If you need real excitement try 40 with a heavy load at 4am with heavy fog. Now that's truckin' LOL

I get the excitement of climbing up and out of the Butler Valley each and every week hauling 3-5 coils from AK ButlerWorks. State RT 8 kills mpg.
Plus all of the trips in and out of Pittsburgh. Can't recall being on 65 but have been on 40 before.

But I digress, this is a forum for Orientation and Training period- because the other one Jim put up is old LOL.

Just Kiddin around, nc-rider! Ha! :biggrin_25525:

oops, the 65 and 40 I was talking about is actually in MD. It is at the bottom western side of PA. That part of 40 going into PA is, I think 9% grade and you stop @ the top to check brakes. The speed limit for trucks is 10 mph with curvy road signs for about 3 miles and don't forget all the signs that says watch for MD wildlife and a picture of deer and bear on it.

Sorry for the hijacking. Continue with the posts NC-rider.

Jim's thread is one of the largest and best threads on the entire site! I would say that all of the Maverick threads on here is actually a better recruiting tool than the actual recruiting dept HA! Keep posting all of your experiences, trust me, people are reading the threads. We have an excellent reputation, and our drivers are great.
