Being self insured has nothing to do with medical insurance. Two different things. Self insured has to do with the truck insurance. Something you learn as you get beyond being a just got out of trucking school haven't done anything yet but I know it all rookie.

Actually, they are self insured in medical insurance too. That means that they are contracted with a medical insurance company but pay all the claims up to a certain cap. A lot of companies are like that nowadays. If a claim goes over a certain amount then they have a stop loss that kicks in. May is debt free and they are most definitely self insured (paying their own claims) in health insurance.

I'm a new driver and I was with May for the past 6 mo. I guess I got lucky and found a local gig last week. Boise to Burns and back home every night. So don't dispair Liteguy if you keep looking you might find somthing.

Can you ever keep your mouth shut on anything you have NO CLUE about. In several threads you are just completely in left field. I am sorry to be blunt I hope NOBODY listens to you because you have no clue.
I talked to the recruiter and then a few drivers and they are self insured with a 50K cap. Why don't you call and ask yourself like you called Watkins. Just do me a favor if you don't know post it as a question or ask don't post wrong information and mislead people. Thanks -

If you know then how did you not know medical was self insured as well? Just wondering. Little do you know I have a cousin who has been training for May for 2 year been there for 6 and is still there. I do know the fact. I also know my cousin recommended I look someplace else because I need decent benefits for my family.
Let just agree to disagree and you can quit trying to attack me, I may be new but with my background I know the right things to ask and know how to get the answers without a recruiter trying to lie to me about it.
