Thanks for all the info. just a few more questions if you don't mind...

is it correct the top pay is .34 per mile regardless of experience?

are you forced to participate in the per diem program?

on the e-logs do they have a line 5 for off duty driving?

do you only get your loads from dispatch or can you bid off the load board?

what type of bonuses do they offer, do they pay for breakdown/layover and if yes how much?

I am not sure what the top pay is....... I prefer to not let the "money" guide my decisions as to what company I choose to work for. I know and can see that there are many drivers that have been working for Pride for 15+ years and that for the most part.... the average driver has been with Pride for 5+ years.

I cannot write that you're "forced" to do anything, which would mean that you have no choice whatsoever. But, in answer to your question regarding the per diem.... I am not sure whether you are capable to opt out, if you choose.

Yes - you are capable to drive "off-duty" for a maximum of one hour per day within the HOS rules and regulations. Essentially, you have a half-hour to get to your destination and a half-hour to get back to your starting point from where you placed yourself off-duty driving.

Bid off the load board? Why would you bid off the load board?

Breakdown Pay / Layover Pay / Stop & Drop Pay / Detention Pay / Fuel Bonus / Safety Bonus

This information was written in error. A trainee will run with a trainer for a period of three months, then the trainee must team drive for a period of another three months before they are capable to upgrade to solo status. After the completed six months, the trainee can choose to go solo.

Wow, so they have forced per diem and they make you run team for 3 months AFTER being with a trainer for 3 months?
Are you essentially running team with him too? I have thought about going down and talking with them, but the forced per diem really bothers me. Small thing, I know.

I have to say though that their drivers have always impressed me! For a reefer outfit, they are mostly very pleasant to deal with and don't all look like bums. They have a decent CSA score as well. They have an ad which states that their average pay equals out to about .39 com and 50k for 2011.

A brand new trainee, right out of CDL school with no experience trains with a trainer for three months, then is required to team drive for another three months before they are provided solo status.

I have experience, thus I went through an evaluator that was supposed to be anywhere from one - three weeks. After one week, my evaluator has indicated that I'm ready to go solo. On Monday, I return to the terminal to do my "upgrade" and get my own truck.

Well.... so far so good. Arrived to the terminal this morning to conduct my "upgrade" from evaluation status. Did a road test with the Safety Manager and was signed off for solo status.

Was immediately assigned a truck, but it is located in Las Vegas. They booked me a flight from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas, flying out tonight.

    Met with my driver manager.

Will continue to update my progress and my experiences.

Here I go.... back in the saddle again, being the "last of the cowboy way"!

Yeah.... It's very recent and still in test stages right now. Last time I heard, we only had one flatbed to try out the market and see whether it's worthwhile to pursue.
