Despite the forced per diem, which is no small downside, I'm looking real close at applying with Pride since every job's gonna have at least a few downsides.
Since I reside in Laughlin I am wondering if I would have to leave my vehicle parked at their Las Vegas drop yard or whether they'd instead let me bobtail home (Laughlin's slightly over 100 miles away).
When I used to drive for Marten, their Vegas drop yard was the Ocean Spray in Henderson, so I got to bobtail home. -
Re Pride's scrapping APU's in favor of an "above 70 below 30" idling policy, many years ago before Marten had any APU's, my FM mass-Qualcomm'd all of us one day asking what could be done about us idling too much. My response wouldn't have made my fellow drivers very happy, but I suggested that Marten make the truck impossible to long-idle when the temperature's within a certain range.
This was the first I'd ever heard of any company actually doing that! I have no problem with the "above 70" part, but the "below 30" seems a little harsh. My reply at Marten suggested "below 45". -

I would also miss having an APU for the battery-charging functionality. I routinely plug equipment into 300-watt inverters while the truck's parked. Doing this with the engine off and no APU reduces the life of the alternator. -
I wonder why they won't allow a big inverter? That's a bummer. I use a microwave and coffee pot in my truck everyday. Our trucks come with big inverters already installed. Oh well. To each their own.

Wow....I musta got one of them 5 trucks then.
Cuz I got an old Pride transport truck and it's got a factory installed TriPac APU w/ espar installed on it. -

I have an old 2007 Century that came from Pride Transport.
