What a Super Bowl! Broncos looked stupid out there!!! I really wanted Seattle to lose since they beat my Saints twice! Oh well, maybe next year.
AcH, I wish I was working as much as you! Have to say I'm glad I'm working cause this time last year I was laid off. I'm still doing all right with the paychecks though. Glad things are working out for you at UPSF. -

I could care less who won as long as I won my box pool, and I got screwed out of thousands that I couldve won. I needed that field goal and of COURSE they go for the 2 pointer...
well over 8 inches of snow today and another 8 tomorrow into wednesday... AKA means Im not going to work. I dont like messing around in that white fluffy stuff. -
Ok so time to update.
Monday - closed
Tuesday, worked the dock, all runs closed due to ice storm and state of emergencies.
Today went in, worked the outbound at 7pm (normal) and everything closed except our longest run Harrisburg. At 1030 they asked me if I wanted to go. If the roads weren't so icy I would've went but I declined it. It takes 10 hours to do normally when everything's good. If I had my full 14 I would've still went actually. So they allowed me to do a quick drop/hook to a customer we can do anytime of day. Few guys looked at me like I was insane but I knew it would be too hard to do the trip with not enough hours and black ice. There will be other days for HRS runs -
Some non-union carriers that I'm not going to mention have found ways to get away with not paying overtime and will keep you at $20-$22 straight time. You can expect to get anywhere between 50 to 70 hours with those. -
Top at the end of our contract will. E over 28 per hour. But now it's 4 years to hit top rate. I was hired before jam 1st so I'm grandfathered into the 3 year still. Lucky for me.
no overtime? I'll say the companies, old dominion doesn't pay till after 60 and Estes until over 55 because of the railroad agreement. But if you speak to there drivers they aren't treated extremely well. I have a co-worker who w as at Old D for 13 years. -
This is to me, an extremely easy job, but considering the profits we make for our companies we should be banking like this. -
Hey hammer I went to NBR tonight
-
What time? I wasn't there as its been a hell of a week for me with a broken down truck in roanoke for 8.5 hrs then get going again only to have them close the roads so another 10.5 hrs in hotel. Good thing is we were on the clock for a tad over 19.5 hrs on our first run of the week.
