Sorry for the real bad experience. I did go through the orientation at Werner in Allentown, PA. It wasn't that bad. I was put on medical suspension for a condition I had in 2008, even though I passed the DOT physical. So I didn't get to go out with the trainer. I don't mind anymore.

keep a positive attitude and youll do fine, werner imo is one of the better ones as far as large OTR companies go.

you wont have to fight w/ your manager or fuel manager as far as idle and they will authorize just about ANY repair you can think of out on the road because they are debt free (thats important),which will save you time. if you go from that to having to beg to get your brakes repaired to deliver a load,or having to wait for the right load to come along so they can limp you back to terminal to do most any repair, youll appreciate it...

and last but not least the pay is "above average",and their checks do not bounce.

This is very useful Info to me here. I start orientation at Werner's Allentown pa terminal next Monday. and It shows me a little of what I'm in for. personally I'm gona stick it out with them to see what happens but hell its only 6 months. Get me experience in and see what happens from there.

The part about your roomate was funny as ##### though lol If i saw that Id sleep on the bench in front of the hotel.

Yes, good attitude - stick it out and get experience if you can. Most of the better companies required at least 1 year experience - some of them up to 5 years (Walmart).

I intend to stick it out. The route (dedicated) they have me on when I test out is right by my family's new house.

And if it doesn't pan out, I still have buddies who want me in with them for DOD loads, since I already have base access.
