I do it all the time on eBay. I've sold trucks and trailers, and always require a $1,000 deposit within 48 hours, especially if they want it delivered. OP, there is a lot of information on buying used trucks here. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO WALK AWAY. Get an independent inspection/dyno done by a nearby dealer. They can pull warranty history usually for the low price of a pizza.
To answer the question - Why did I put the deposit on the truck befor seeing it ????? I have been calling these folks to see what they have on the lot for 3 month.. They have plenty of Prostars...Not what I am wanting.. As for the final out come, I have read enough on these forums and been around long enough to know not to close the sale till I have everything checked out. And I will be checking in to update on how it all goes..
I thought we would get info on some one who had experience with lone mountain, like 3- 6 -12 months of here is my experience with them, not I made a call, made a deposit waiting on a call back.
Yeah it's much riskier. Those buyers have no idea if I actually own the item. If a private individual scams you, you will never see that money again. LM has a decent reputation and the odds of them closing up shop tomorrow are slim.
