OP remember you will need about $2,000 to get a plate on the truck when you get home you will need to call the IRS to get your EIN then you will need to walk into a IRS office to do your 2290 the 1st time, they will pro rate it, you can e-file after that every july $550 lone mountain will not have the old cab card for the truck so most likely you will have to pay for your 1st year plate (a lot of companies you lease on to that give you a free base plate will not if you don't have the old cab card) base plate is about $1,500 I don't know about your state but in TN their is only 1 place you can go to get your base plate
Sorry for the absence.. Been getting other little details out of the way. LM has been keeping in touch with me, and as of last Friday, the truck has been sitting in Iowa waiting on me. I will be going up there for Tuesday to look it over, and to take it to have it dyno'd. I drive for Conway TL, and will be leasing the truck with them to start off with. A few things about insurance had to be confirmed with Conway, and LM wasted no time getting all the ducks in line for me. the only reason the process has dragged out was cause of me. Lone mountain said the trucks would be on their lot and ready to go by the last week in January , and that's when I got the call. will let you all know how it goes... by the end of the week I should be ready for dispatch.
The deal with our lone mountain truck went through and we worked it all last week. The negatives about it are that we were led to about motor size and we couldn't get maintanence records on it. The truck passed the dyno with a 90% and then we to took the truck to a Cummins shop to verify motor size. The truck has a 400 isx cummins instead of the 435 the salesman told us it had. Last week the truck ran very well though. It is a international prostar 2009 auto. We found out from the cummins guy that USA truck was the original owner. The permits cost over 600 dollars for it and we had to pay insurance up front.
Well I can say I'm not impressed. I'm here now, found some issues like the truck won't warm up while on the test drive, and the shop here tells the salesman they got the truck up to 170 while revving it up out in the yard It wouldn't climb over 100 while on the test drive " geez. And the front bumper has a scratches like someone hit something. And they didn't even detail the inside. It was filthy. They have other Pete's here, but supposedly all taken. Think I'll be leaving with my deposit.
Good luck with your search. You'll find most used trucks have some flaws, no matter the dealer. It is what it is. If you want a perfect truck, a new truck or extreme luck is the only way that will happen. I went and looked at a Volvo 780 a couple months ago at the Volvo dealer and it was the same way. A few scratches here and there, not detailed etc. This truck had been on the lot for 2 months. Bottom line is, if you're not happy with the truck don't buy it.
