So if it takes you 15 minutes to fuel you have to sit another 15 minutes at the fuel stop to make safety happy ? That must be why I see so many trucks sit so long after they pull up at the fuel island .

They are doing everything by the book. I didn't say it was a real world situation. You know these pencil pushers create these rules in some board room filled with sandwiches and coffee and think they know how things run out there. Believe me, I used to be one and couldn't take the fake BS anymore.
-
I quit logging 30 minute fuel stops because they'd show less driving time and make my average speed too high .
-
novoids. glad to hear you are liking crete. are you still there? it has been 3 weeks since last update. i NEEd updates.
hope you are doing well and keep it safe out there!
-
well they turned me down today after saying i was good to come back...i have been off the rd for yr and a half they were fully aware of this, said it would be no problem and then.......WHATA YA KNOW.!!!!!, seems they need be to get some time in OTR before i come back....even though i have worked there twice and the last time was for two yrs.....so back to the drawing board for me....LOL

you misread what he wrote, 15 minute fuel/pti is a no no. 30 minutes for fuel and a pti is ok with crete. They require 15 min fuel only.
-
That is correct. I used to do my pre-trip and fuel at the start of my day and log 15. They sent a qcom message telling me I could not do that anymore. I know other guys that continued to do it for awhile. Eventually they got the dreaded phone call from safety telling them to stop.
-
15 min for fuel and pti is acceptable, 30 min for drop and hook or unload, is the standard.
Trust me, been there 3 years. -
most companies will not recognize military experience, no matter what you drove.
They claim it an insurance problem. -
Many fuel stops don't require 30 minutes except the drivers that fuel , pull ahead , and go wait in line at the Subway .
I quit logging 30 minute stops because it resulted in showing my average speed too high . My carrier's safety department would go crazy if they had electronic logs . Most drivers would be turning in average speeds they consider speeding . You will average over 60 m.p.h. in a 65 m.p.h. zone if you get on the interstate right off the highway and go to a destination within a mile or so of the ramp . I have gotten notices saying I was speeding - 60.2 m.p.h. average .
I still get the shirts , coffee cups , coolers , etc for safety awards .
