Sounds like the PA Turnpike. There are a lot of arched bridges along there, particularly on the stretch between Irwin and Carlisle where the highway was built over where a railroad line used to be. I recall one specifically that's signed for 12'2" IIRC, but that's for on the shoulder.

Reminds me of when I drove pilot car behind my brother in '79 (before they had regulations for pilot cars). We were hauling a 75' yacht from the port of Houston to LA. IIRC the height was 18' 6" and we were routed through the Texas panhandle. In several small towns the routine was to park before the town, walk into the local diner, and hire a few willing folks to lift the traffic lights over the yacht by walking them back as my brother inched forward.

The yacht owner rode in my pickup. When we settled in for the day in some small town after doing the "lift and walk" to get through the traffic lights, we parked in a wide spot. He opened up the wet bar and the entire town of 17 population showed up for a party. I need to figure out a way to digitize my old Kodachromes.

That was with a '74 Ford cabover with a gutless Cat. The trailer had hydraulics to lift the front or back about five feet to get over low clearances, like railroad tracks. AC was roll down the windows. Power steering was designed by Armstrong. That was the first truck I drove in '77. Copper lines for air, I remember because we replaced a 4" section of line on I-80 near Elk Mountain after explosive failure and warning claxons going off when I was behind the wheel.

The load is 38' feet long. I guess you could do it with a lowboy stretch.
Originally, the load was taken as legal height. But the customer made an error in the height. The agent offered for me to keep the load with an increase in price.
