I have had a Cobra 29 since I started trucking. It is a stock radio. I see no reason for power. Mainly because of the many problem people on the radio, it is off most of the time unless I am running with someone.

I would not put a tower computer in a truck.
The vibration would kill it in no time.
At least a laptop is designed to take a little abuse, not allot, but more than a tower.
You can set up a laptop to be close in power to all but the best desktops.

I have my next one all spec'ed already. 4 gigs ram, 180 gig 7200 rpm HD, pent duo 2.4 gig proc, 8800 gtx graphics. Will play any game made with no more lag than all but the best pc.

I had a Coleman cooler,a lunch box size food heater,A decent CB,which I only used when nessascary, weather and traffic reports, etc. Got tired of all of the Billy Big Riggers shootin their mouth off over the CB.Definitly a good Road Carriers atlas.A few other things to do. Get out of the truck and excercise every day, this can be as simple as going for a long walk or if you are up to it running for a few miles.Stay away from the truck stop buffets,or you will continually be moving your drivers seat farther away from the steering wheel.Try to make a habit of getting up and rolling very early in the morning.
