I'm interested in the boat division also. Can you tell me the requirements and who to contact? Or do the they call you.
I have herd a couple drivers I talk with in my area, have been called this week to see if they are interested. Any additional info like proposed miles and rate per mile would be great.

Once you have been here a bit they would offer you dedicated runs like that. From what I have heard, that dedicated fleet up in norwood does very well money wise.

Im just under a year with TMC doing well I believe. As I said a couple drivers in my area (more then) one year of service have been asked if they were interested. I do like line hall, however having a boat myself I thought it would be a good mix for me.

I was on the boat division out on New York Mills, MN and I live in Wi. Getting on the boat division depends more on where you live. MN, WI, MI, MO, TN, TX, IN are the areas you must be in or near. You must have a minimum of a year with TMC and depending on your performance sometimes two years before being considered for boats. For those with less than 3 yrs exp the pay starts at .37 a mile but you get a lot of miles. You will also need a passcard / passport to be considered. The boats go into Canada a lot and you will be up there a lot which has its drawbacks as its expensive up there if you have to do a restart.
If you think you qualify, ask your FM who you can talk to to get in. They can tell you if your eligable or not. Plan on being out for 2 weeks a lot. Sometimes 3 depending on where you live. In most cases it is not a go home every weekend job. You will get a lot of 2-3 day runs, no tarping and no back haul.
If your a single guy that doesn't need home time its great. If your a married guy with kids, I'd stat away as 2-3 weeks away from home can wear on you and the family. Thats why I left the boats after a year and a half in it.
    Good luck.

You still with TMC, DC? I'm in Richmond also and considering going with them. It'd be cool to sit down and pick your brain sometime. Thanks

I have been told that there were women who drove for TMC and there was a female trainer at one point. I have never ran into one.
I can not say for certain , but I think they would consider you as long as you can get through the securement program without any problems. In the end, it's up to them.
As far as getting a good trainer, if you make it to that point, dont hold back if the guy gives you problems. Tell them you need a new one and they will resolve it.

Yes, TMC does have a rider program. They have to be direct relation to you (husband, child, grandchild, brother, sister etc.) and there is a small fee to cover the insurance for them. It's cheap like 5.00 a week I think. No pets though.

    Good luck!

    Dollface_trucker Thanks this.
