Gotta keep ol' ironhorse busy !!!!!!
allycatt2 Thanks this. -
If everyone will read from this post.... the only L/O I know of who works from Prime is Sazook. U2 and IP are both company drivers if I am not mistaken. IF that has recently changed, I apologize.
I am thouroughly convinced that no matter what company you drive for, there will be good things and bad things. IN this industry everything can't be roses. IF that were the case, heck nobody would be hiring cause nobody would be leaving.
Yes you have to do your own research, take the good with the bad and really follow your gut on who you want to drive for.
I will agree with a lot of drivers that "leasing" a truck your first year or two is not a good idea. I mean, you are still learning the "ropes" so to speak, learning how to map your routes, getting used to Dispatch, learning how to drive the mountains, and in bad weather..... I say get some OTR experience first, than weigh your options.
I mean if you listened to every person who said don't go to High School it SUX and just drop out.... what good would that do you? Maybe not a great analogy, but you get the point.... -
The harder you run the more we take!

If allycatt2 had the slightest clue about Prime, then yeah...
He doesn't. If you listen to this guy and his f-up'd opinions, you're passing up a great opportunity.
Mav77... I'm a lease/op these days. Laughing all the way to the bank!DirtySideDown Thanks this. -
Allycat. Did somebody tell you all drivers at Prime are lease drivers? Not sure what your comments mean. But I drive a company truck. Leasing and having your own business is a choice left up to the individual driver. If you choose to take the risk and lease, that's a risk that you decided to make. In the 18 months I've been here at Prime, I've never been pressured or even asked if I want to switch to lease. The answer would be no anyway...be it leasing at Prime or any other company for that matter.
And you found complaints about Prime on a website called complaintsboard?? HA! Admittedly, I have read the complaints over there. I could pick apart most of those posts and show how they are mostly lies, but what's the point? Why not start quoting channel 19 next time? Being one of the largest carriers in the country, there are going to be more than average disgruntled employees. Name any company over 1000 trucks and I can just about guarantee you'll find complaints all over the place for them online. Especially when you have to opportunity to run your own business at said company....with the chance of both succeeding and failing. Of course when anybody fails at a business, it's always somebody else's fault.
But you and notarps go ahead and keep trying to be heroes and save everyone from whatever you're trying to save them from. If you can stop just one person from going with Prime, that means less competition for loads for me. So, thanks. -
I am just waiting for approval. My application is all finished. I am ready for them to send me on the old Greyhound bus to Springfield. Zero experience driving a rig, however, training is top-notch I heard. I am excited to go. Naysayers didn't convince me to stay away. I think Prime is a good fit for me. I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. -
Don't take the same bus as the OP did, you'll never get there !!!!!!
-
Score one for all of the Prime recruiters here on the forum! I think I'm due to get the paycheck on this guy, but IP, we can split it instead if you'd like. U2, you can have the next one.
Seriously though man, good luck. If you ever have any questions you don't want to ask in a public forum, feel free to message me anytime. Things will be pretty hectic for the next several weeks, but it'll go by fast and you're going to learn a ton.
See you out on the road. Don't hit me!DirtySideDown Thanks this.
