Get hot on cdl school and hit the road; wanderlust is already in your soul. You won't be happy sitting in a control tower, especially if you can see the interstate from there and see the big trucks rolling down the highway.

My uncle drove for Roadway Express back in the 1940's and 50's and he griped and whined the whole time saying that trucking is going down hill fast. I was in diapers then, but still remember that as if it were yesterday. Saw him unload a set of chinaware he pilfered. Had it hidden under some straw in the trailer. Most old timers say that, so take it with a grain of salt. I guess I'm one of the few that doesn't feel that way. Sure, it changes with the times, but so does everything else.

Okay, now I am back on the road so I don't check in as often. Here goes.
I have landed many times at JFK. In both the pilot seat and in the first class cabin. It is nice having ATC when you are in the sitting in the back of the plane but the ground controllers are the ones who actually tell you which runway to turn onto.
I have equipment in the plane which tells me of every other airplane near me.
What you have to understand is that ATC is a government job. Everyone that holds a Government Job sings the same song. We are necessary and we are under paid.
Technology has made ATC obsolete.
