3rd party insurance just called me and based on photos she will total it since cab will need to be replaced along with wires due to water. Trucks is valued at 87,500 now it’s gonna be up to main insurance if they want to cover or not
blairandgretchen, exhausted379, Feedman and 8 others Thank this. -
In this truck market i think you could get a dam good deal on a truck with 80k in your hand .W923 Thanks this.

Unless you’re thoroughly thrilled with that valuation get a Public Claims Adjuster’s opinion on valuation.
That’s good news though.
Also you’re lucky to be alive today. Especially since some of the chemicals in today’s synthetic materials will actually put you into a deeper sleep. May want to think about a smoke/carbon monoxide detector in your next truck.. I got one and it gives me a little peace of mind.
Hope all works out in your favor..gokiddogo, blairandgretchen, exhausted379 and 4 others Thank this. -
I would be happy with that if it gets covered I would try to buy the truck back from insurance. Under the hood is sitting a 5 month old reman engineblairandgretchen, Feedman, Sons Hero and 2 others Thank this.

Just curious because it’s not common that people wake up due to smoke inhalation. Did you wake up on your own or was someone knocking on your door?Feedman Thanks this.

my uncle was parked next to me I had driver passenger window cracked and sleeper vent cracked. He was drinking next to me and called me saying he saw smoke. Went out grabbed his extinguishers but that cab burned fast. I tried to keep going in to save it until I couldn’t even breath (stupid me)

Hopefully the engine is untouched and runs.
Just an FYI in case you didn't know, if an engine block has evidence of fire damage a lot of engine manufacturers will prorate the core value down to $0.Feedman Thanks this. -
I didn't know anything about gliders till I heard something about the Fitzgerald fiasco. On the Kevin Rutherford show.
And then there's things I wouldn't know if it weren't for this forum. I had no idea the hos changed back in 2004.
Being local doesn't really stay in tune much to government changes.
Most locals don't know the current regs. They probably don't know about the clearinghouse thing either.blairandgretchen, expedite_it, Numb and 1 other person Thank this. -
Schneider ran a goodly number of them a few years back to deal with the first gen EPA abortions.
