Pam does have a few reefer trailers, but they are few and far between. They are starting to run doubles now for Fedex i think. So hazmat and a doubles and triples endorsement may help a bit in getting a good dedicated run.

Jacksonville, Fl terminal and yard are now closed. My husband has been going on a year with this company. He started as an AFS driver and loved it. Yes, changes can be challenging but if you dedicate yourself and show you can plan a trip successfully and run, you will have no problems with your DM. My husband hasn't sat as much as he use to and when he did it was because of slow freight. Now that PAM is getting into new avenues, the freight is alot better. I can tell you from experience because I go with him alot. I see alot of people upset on this site because they weren't getting home. I can tell you since my husband started he has ALWAYS been home a day or 2 before his requested home time. Just make sure you put in the request at least 3 weeks before you want to be home. If you are within 200 miles say 4-5 days before your scheduled home-time, remind them of your home time. 3 days before, remind them of your home time even if you are more than I said away from home.

PAM is not as bad as some say, I guess you can only go on your own experiences, but we can't always go by someone else's opinion either. We don't know the whole story from both sides.
PAM has made alot of positive changes as Chip has already stated on this post. Your first year is not going to be as lucrative as you would hope, but if you stick with it and your spouse supports your decision the schooling is paid off everything will work into place. My husband even pays a ridiculous amount in CS but I respect his decision and help him as much as I can.

For better or worse I went to C1 in Ft. Worth, passed my CDL and am waiting for PAM to get a trainer to me.

I know for the time I'm with the trainer I can have no cooler and not a lot besides clothes.

I got into this because A: I always thought I wanted to drive a Rig and B: There was nothing I could do around home to make money after being layed off.

I will report from time to time on my experience.
