Hi all, and thank you, I am currently a Tanker Driver based in Augusta, Ga. I joined the sight to practice up for the Hazmat test so I can renew my CDL. Great site so far, I am also looking at the possibility of moving on from this current company to one that will offer a little more flexiblity for home time especially Sunday's kinda miss going to church. I am a Veteran (Army) started driving after I got out. Love driving, tried Vans, Flats, Reefers, but kinda like tankers, still new to it only 4 years. Currently my only hobby right now is online karaoke which I found to be a big stress reducers, again I appreciate the welcome and looking forward to joining in and taking advantage of the information and experience of my fellow Brothers and Sisters drivers who continue to move America. God Bless and take care.

Welcome 12close. I'm starting my tanker career next week with Schneider. Can you share some of your experiences with tankers and what to expect the first few months? Thanks.

Jamcar, welcome, I'm currently doing a dedicated no unload, I have run OTR and local with this company with several different products all hazmat and unload air and pump depending on product. I can't speak for others but I like Tankers wait times are'nt long usually it takes anywhere between 45 min to 1.5 hrs to unload although I have spent hrs at a customer. Load times vary also for most part its simple safety is most important, if your required to wear protective equipment do so. I was looking at Schnieder also (regional) sounds good. Take care and have fun it's what you make it.

Thanks. What type of locations are you loading and unloading from? Do you have to wear long sleeves every day? I'm trying to figure what to get that won't be so hot! Thanks again for the advice and I plan on being safe, steady and thorough.
