Oh I agree it's a joke. I'm starting to wonder if they're skimming it, charging more and keeping the rest of it. They don't want to show any rated freight bills I do know that. Whether customer or brokered load. Claim to pass on 100% of fuel discount too off their EFS card, but never can keep track of it really. They also have the fuel card locked to PFJ only. I'd rather just go on to a real company with real freedom. Hopefully I hear from Landstar sometime soon.

The O/O world is still crazy? I was thinking about risking it months ago but stayed company. Made about low 100s last year with almost 2 months off work with weather, cut schedules, etc.

Well I heard from a recruiter today. Enter the process of the 30+ days to get on with Landstar. So do any of you Landstar veterans have any advice for which agents to avoid? I'd really appreciate it if you'd share, maybe in PM? I definitely don't want to learn while going bankrupt, or go bankrupt while learning.

I guess you missed the part of this thread where he left landstar due to the good paying loads getting harder to come by. He went back to FCC which pays mileage and fuel surcharge. Honestly I would recommend FCC. I used to work there. Great honest people there.

Maybe. But that's a matter of preference, I think. He may need to hit a higher gross or some number like that weekly where as I do not. Would be great to hit that high every week but not something I MUST do. I am just not into running 7 days to barely clear $5000 to the truck. Company I run for isn't really all that great on charging a rate that amounts to much. But anyone with experience at FCC is more than welcome to PM me, if they'd not mind doing so. I think I read something in one of these posts on this thread about $1.98 per mile with FSC, which sounds a lot better than what I make currently. I hear constantly the "good loads" at Landstar never see the load board. But also have heard from others who make a pretty decent living. Anytime I saw a Landstar fleet owner before I got my hazmat they were all happy. I just didn't get my hazmat until last year so never bothered applying with Landstar prior to that.

And there is it. Personal preference, I knew this was the reason you likely left Landstar. I appreciate the thread. Someone else pointed out to me that you had went back to FCC, I admit I didn't read all the pages in the thread, or posts but just skimmed through them all mainly focusing on only yours. Pretty detailed experience with Landstar. I hope I will make better money than where I am now, if successfully taken on by Landstar. I am pretty sure I will, though. I too will enjoy the freedoms they offer, they seem unparalleled as well as transparent. I can't stand that "top secret" feel a lot of these companies try to put on with the rates and such. In my situation with current carrier, I am also paid percentage though, but the rates are literally all over the place.
