    Hey, thanks Chompi,

The only reason I decided to go with Schneider is because it was one of few I have been researching that takes New Grads and puts them in Tankers. My whole outlook was to start in tankers and not Vans. I was supposed to start with CTL (Comcar) but kept getting the yes, then no runaround, so here I am heading to Schneider Tankers. I need to start somewhere and do plan on moving on to one of a few I have applied to that want experience first once I do get my experience. :)

Sillen, I hope you are in good shape and are strong. They have implemented a new pre-work screen lifting test where you have to be able to lift a milk crate with 60 lbs in it above your shoulders without using your legs. I worked at Schneider a few years back and they didn't have this test but now it is part of the orientation. If your heart rate climbs above a certain range while doing any of the pre-work screen physical you are done. They will send you home.

I failed twice the past two weeks so I am not going back. It is a ######## test but they claim you need to be able to lift 60 lbs over you head to drain hoses at this job. I have done tanker work for 4 years, never had any problem with the weight of any hose and certainly never had to lift a hose up to my shoulders or over my head. They haven't had a tanker trainee come out of Gary, Indiana (where I went) for over 3 weeks because all the drivers are failing the pre-work screen. The trainer there said the tanker division is 180 drivers short right now.

Just wanted to give you a heads up. Traveling from Fla. to Coraopolis is a long way to go just to be sent home. Hopefully you can do it because Schneider is a good company. I don't know where a previous post claimed you will only make $300-$500 per week at Schnieder. When I worked for them a few years ago I averaged $700 take home and had about 12 checks that totaled between $800 to $1100 take home during that year. It depends on the particular week. Good luck.
