It answered the question of whether or not you qualified and if you were waisting your time.

I had my pre-orientation conference call yesterday and I now know why some people don't make it through orientation. First of all the guy who was holding the conference call politely asked everyone to mute their phones, more than once. One guy kept burping into the phone during the call. Another guy was talking to someone else during the call. Another guy sounded like he was on a construction site. Too much noise in the background. Lastly, another dude kept interrupting with questions even after being instructed to write down our questions and they would be addressed after he got done with his information. I won't even get into some of the questions that were being asked. There were a few legitimate questions but for the most part these guys were asking questions that were in the instructions our recruiters sent out.

Im leaving on Monday to the Fontana training center. I'll keep you all posted!

So I did the formal phone interview with the recruiter for SNI last week, he's done my driving and background checks. Go for the pee in a cup and hair follicle test on Tuesday. Was going to do the physical last Friday, but recruiter said don't bother, they'll do another later. Do have to get the CDL permit on my own, will probably do the that on Monday, been doing practice tests etc on line, doing well with that. Sounds like after they get the results of the drug test back, will go up to Edwardsville for the pre-hire physical test, after passing that the "real" DOT physical and ANOTHER pee in the cup and hair follicle test. Once all that's clear then I'll start at Premiere CDL for the driving part. From what the recruiter said, instead of doing the full 4 weeks, the first of which is classroom to pass the written tests, I'll just do the 3 weeks driving part since I will have already had my permit. Ok, seems cost effective to me. The good part about all this is the terminal and driving school are all within a half hour of the house, so can be home at night at least during the first part. Once with a trainer, different story. So it goes

I got my CDL in another state when I was in the army, when I got out and came home I let it go cause I figured I would never use it, bad idea, but such as life lol

Similar thing happened to me. I wasn't in the service but I drove from 1996 to 2001. I took a job in construction and let my CDL expire. Didn't think I'd ever use it again. Construction slowed so here I am 11 years later and $3000 poorer restarting my driving career. I'll never let it go again.
