Thanks for posting your journey, the highs and the lows, I am going to be going to the academy in TN in Oct, and look forward to finally becoming a trucker, a dream I have had since I was a kid.
My journey with Swift begins tomorrow!

Finished my first run to Georgia in recorder time with hardly any stops!
Tried sweet tea for the first time in my life. As soon as it hit my lips two things happened: I felt my teeth dissolve and discovered why so many people in the south are diabetic.
Heading from long beach to Georgia again tonight! I only have 37 hours left on my 240. I may be able to take the driving test either in Phoenix or Fontana ...which would you recommend to get me my own truck sooner? -
Six hours to go on my 240!

In North Carolina, "sweet tea" was the term used to differentiate tea made with sugar in it from "unsweet tea" which was made without sugar.
In my experience, there was a very wide range of "sweet" tea, ranging from 'sweet' that was just a notch above unsweetened tea to the tooth-disolving, diabetes-inducing, jaw-gripping, 5-pounds-per jug tea that Kusangi probably had. One shot of that was enough to convince me never to order sweet tea again because I had no idea what I was going to get. I would rather put my own sugar in, if the tea needed it.Rattlebunny Thanks this. -
As far as mcdonalds sweet tea is concerned, I use at most 1/4 of the cup with thier sweet tea then fill it the rest of the way with unsweetened tea. Maybe try that next time. More on topic, I am set up for orientation in phx on 9/12 then fb training after. If your around phx then let me know kusanagi, I'd love to meet ya and maybe have lunch at the Jake.

Finally got finished and am home for a few days! I'm scheduled for my driving test on Thursday at 10:30 at the Fontana terminal. Can't wait to get it out of the way!
Ended up driving about 280 hours by the time all was said and done. We purposely didn't scan the logs until the mentor was heading home so he wouldn't have to drop me in a terminal back east.
Anything I need to know for the driving test? I've been told I have 15 minutes to make a u-turn in the yard and put the trailer in a hole next to two others. I've never come close to needing that much time to back up.
