Every time that I see a new driver posting on his/her mostly positive experiences with their newfound relationship with their company, I make a mental note of following that person's postings for nothing other than a little entertainment.
Just another lesson in human psychology; Gawd, we are all such simple, predictable creatures.

First, it's Denial; "My first three weekly paychecks were only for $325.00 each for 90 hours of work but when I figure this system out, things will get much better"!

Then Anger: "Forget what all the naysayers are posting about this company; they just couldn't hack it"!

Then Bargaining; "If I can just last three more months here, maybe I'll have enough driving experience for that other driving job".

Then Depression; "This job blows.. I've been working like a dog since last spring and I can't pay any bills and I'm totally broke! My trucking school and the company recruiters lied to me"!

Then... no more posts, never to be seen or heard from again.

Yeeaaahhhhh...I thought I was the only one who noticed that.

I'll make one for Knight, if all goes well starting the second or so week or January. The difference is I am a bit older and I have spend over a year checking companies. However, my tickets and green-ness tied my hands a little. I long had my CDL though (paid for by the G.I. bill) also, being a VET I have a few perks I am eligible most drivers are not. I only intend to do this (OTR anyway) for about a year before I start school and then go local/daily if possible.

    OP,
    Anything new to report ?

In all honesty, what seriously would make my day would be for me to read a post from a new driver that would be stating that the conditions... and the pay... were incredible and that their future were looking bright and rosy.
Would be so nice to hear that Knight was revamping the program; and entirely in the drivers favor; or at least a few legitimate compromises.

From what I heard from my recruiter it is, however,I'll try to be as thorough and unbias as possible. This is an example of how I document experiences:

GTO Europe Adventures - LS1GTO.com Forums

I intend to do something like this for my driving experience.

Knight will be a bad deal for just about anyone who wants to drive like they own the truck. They have lots of rules, protocols & procedures you have to follow to be successful. If you come from a military background or have the ability to adapt, learn & implement the system you will do fine.
I have never had a issue with income at a trucking company. If your complaint is purely income based at Knight, then you faught agianst how they told you, you would succeed. Implementing the program & becoming an advocate for yourself at any OTR company will make you successful.

Knight acquired swift ? Swift was three times the size of Knight.

QUOTE="TB John, post: 6515525, member: 24100"]I'm afraid you have that backwards, Knight acquired Swift.[/QUOTE]

What are some of the rules and protocols they use?

Good question because I'm sure most of the companies have rules and protocols. They are more lenient than Werner about quite a few things at least inverters/APU's, but Knight has you do your pre and post trip using their electronic gadget.
