Well it's cold this morning. A whole 8 degrees out. Truck was kind of slow to crank. Then it stumbled a little when I hit high idle.

Have you completed your first delivery yet? How is the company compared to Schneider? What did they start you out on (CPM)? How much total driving experience do you have?

Nice truck by the way. Is it a better ride on super singles opposed to duals?

First Delivery: No. I bobtailed from North Little Rock, AR to De Witt, IA.
Compared to SNI: So far it's good. I've only been here a couple weeks so I can't say for certain yet.
Starting CPM rate: I started at 49 CPM. This is because I have greater than 12 months OTR experience.
Total Driving Exp: I have about 14 months of OTR experience from SNI. SNI was my first driving job.

Hard to tell at this point since I haven't pulled a trailer yet. We do have air ride on the front suspension as well which does help a bit. It also helps that the truck is lighter and not as tall so it doesn't react as much in high winds while bobtail. I was still getting blow all over the place yesterday though driving here.

Sitting in the Maverick Drop Lot at Guardian Glass in De Witt, IA. Sent my FM an updated ETA this morning when I got up. Called him when I got here and he said he got it and had updated the CSRs. They are looking for a load for me now.

    Kutina and P399 Thank this.

What he neglected to mention is that his starting pay is higher because he is in the glass division. Glass gets a premium of 5cpm (?).

6CPM premium. Flatbed starts at 43CPM for 12+ months exp. TCD is 42 CPM for 12+ months exp.

The nice part is that I get my Glass pay even if I'm not hauling glass. The extra pay is the reason I chose to go glass. I was originally going to do Flatbed. We also get paid every time we have to set up or take down a set of A Frames on the stepdeck and flatbed trailers.

For a new driver with no experience Flatbed starts at 33CPM. Glass would start at 40CPM. TCD would start at 35CPM.

All of the numbers I've listed are for the OTR divisions. Dedicated accounts are different. All of these numbers are from the Maverick Driver's Manual.

Ok. Thanks for the insight. I'll be lurking around to see how you do. I have the same experience as you. I want to do tankers though later on.

I wish you the best of luck. Hope you don't get to nervous on the first load.

Are you sure about glass pay on all loads? I seem to recall a lot of glass drivers b#tchin that mav's new policy was glass pay when hauling glass only.
