Are you becoming more comfortable with the loads as you get experience? It sounds like "practice makes perfect" ~ as the old saying goes. Is that specific type of load one of the hardest to load and secure in general that you had the issue with? Just trying to learn as much as I can. Thanks for your input. I really like reading your updates because you are very detailed. Enjoy your R&R:)

Yes, I am getting more comfortable with it. If I were to do it again I would go with a trainer for at least 1-2 weeks. There is so much more to it that what they can possibly teach in NLR during training. As I do the job though I'm getting better and faster. What used to take 4-6 hours can now be done in 2-3 hours. I've figured out ways of using bungies to secure the tarps which is much faster than using rope.

My favorite type of load is pretty much anything on a DGL. It is much faster and easier to load than a Flatbed or Stepdeck with A-Frames.

One more picture I took yesterday before leaving my truck.

The Ford looks like it has the same wheelbase as the Freightliner. Nice ride man.

I'm actually glad I have to go out with a trainer. The more I can learn about the job the better. Glad to see you're doing good. Are you still liking it? Happy with your decision? Happy with miles and pay?

Just about, Steer Axle to first Drive Axle is about 3 feet longer. 23ft overall length.

Enjoying it quite a bit. Very happy with the decision. I wish I had started at Maverick when I first started driving. Miles are averaging around 1800-2000 per week but at 49CPM and extra pay things I'm still clearing over 1K each week.

Raetnrunner did you make a decision on who to go with? You probably said and I forgot. Wish you well on your new adventure.
