It's 800 miles minimum pay for the weekend for all divisions, assuming that the following is true:

    1. You are not on hometime.
    2. The weekend does not include any holidays.
    3. You deliver your load on or before 1000 CST Monday morning.

You are also guaranteed to always make a minimum gross paycheck of $400 per week, assuming that these are true:

    1. You did not have hometime that week.
    2. There were no holidays.
    3. You were available to run freight for the entire week.

They also have a minimum mileage pay for a short haul load. There's a lot of reasons to work here.

I would like to work there but as I stated earlier I was told I have to be out 3 weeks at a time on glass division. If it weren't for my kids then I would do that but they are 7 and 10 years old. Maybe things will change in the future then I can come over.

Razor did you get everything taken care of about your accident? What did they do to your truck.

They only require 2 weeks at a time for glass.

The truck is in Gary right now. I let them have it while I had 8 days off. It should be all fixed by the time I head back on Saturday.

Glad to hear that you did not have to get into another truck and then switch back I know how it is switching trucks it is a pain in the rear.
When I spoke to recruiter she told me 3 weeks for my area maybe things changed or she was misinformed.

Well guys I'm done. Maverick fired me on Monday. I knew it was coming. I had too many safety points from the tickets I got last month.

I don't blame the company for what happened. It was solely my fault.

I am upset with how they did it though. I talked to my FM Monday morning as I got back to my truck. He told me at that time that they had nothing for me. So I took my time with loading all of my stuff into the truck. About 30 minutes later he called me with a deadhead to the Gary yard. I asked if there was a repower there but he said he wasn't sure. I didn't think much of it until I was almost there and still hadn't received a W/A. Once I got to the yard I gave him a call back to let him know I was there but still hadn't received any messages. It was at this point that he informed me that I was being terminated.:biggrin_25512:

As I said, I am not mad at the company for letting me go. I am mad that they knowingly let me load all of my stuff into the truck, drive 3 hours from home, and then told me I was SOL and had to get my stuff back home. They gave the usual option of a bus ticket and boxes to FedEx it back.:biggrin_25512:

There's no reason they couldn't tell me earlier that morning. I would've cleaned out my truck at home, then taken it to the yard and caught a bus back home. Instead I either had to pack my stuff into boxes, wait 4-7 days for FedEx to get it there and then take a bus or find my own way home. I wound up having my sister drive from Milwaukee to Gary to pick me and my stuff up.

I had talked with my FM plenty of times. He was well aware or who I am and my personality. I am not the kind of person to just abandon the truck. I would've brought it back no questions asked after emptying out my stuff at home.

I had a pretty good time while I was at Maverick. Most of the employees are great. The fact that they fired me in this manner has made it so I will never recommend them to anybody as a place to work. Had they been reasonable and let me unload at home and not have a family member drive 7 hours round trip to come get me I would've been happy to keep recommending drivers to them.

So, farewell to my former Co-Workers. It was fun and those of you that I met I enjoyed talking with. Good luck and be Safe everybody.
