cant wait til they tarp something. feel free to use the pic you took of the skidded coils we tarped at sdi with me laying on the top rear coil in a sad attempt to appear sexy, while you were with your "trainer" that had no problem with you taking pictures of everything. lol. I love when students want to take pics of stuff for future reference when they are on their own

Dont get discouraged if not called back immediately or even a couple of days.] the recruiters once you talk with one, would prefer you speak with the original recruiter with which you spoke. kinda like your assigned to them. Of course if they are out for an extended period of time, your "file" may be given to a different recruiter. I will try to remember to ask recruiting dept if what I typed is accurate the next time I get by the rock to ask.

You have a great thread going. Very informative and I like the pictures. It is very helpful to anybody looking to get into flat beding and maverick. Just wanted to thank you for all the time and effort that you put into it.
And just like Sarge said it's nice to have a new perspective on somebody going through the training process and maverick. I hope you keep your thread going like Jim did. Hopefully you'll have a 30-year-old thread time you retire. You'll be able to beat Jim no problem he's an old man. LOL
no disrespect to Jim, I am in his his same age group and the is a good friend of mine. I look forward to meeting you some day. I wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors in the trucking business.GoldenLad and sarge26044 Thank this. -

Maverick Glass Training Day 4 - Sunday 02/10/2013
One more 0800 start. This morning it was pouring rain out so we started off the day with going over all the different types of equipment assigned to our trucks and each type of trailer. We took a test on it after about an hour of discussion.
After we all finished the tests we started going over all the paperwork required for loads going to and coming from Canada. After an hour or so of this we again took a test. It's nothing too complicated, there's just some extra paperwork.
After the Canadian Paperwork test we took about a 30 minute break. Not sure why, but that's what we were told to do.
After the break we took the glass Final Exam. Everybody passed. After the Final Exam we went to lunch for a little over an hour.
By the time we got back from lunch the weather had cleared up and it was 75 and sunny. We went outside and finished retarping the DGL trailer.
Final result of the tarp job:
After we finished tarping this we went back inside and cleaned up the classroom we were in. We had to rearrange it to get it ready for the Physicals of the new orientation class that started today.
After we rearranged the room we were done for the day. We left around 1500.
We don't have to go back until 1330 tomorrow afternoon. The other 2 guys in the class with me will find out when/where they will meet their trainers. I will be turned over to Operations to find out when and where I am going to be getting my truck. I'm happy to have finally made it to the end of training. It's been a long 2 weeks to get to this point. I can't wait to get a truck and get back on the road. I've been off the road since January 11th. I'm missing it quite a bit.
Like I've said multiple times, I'm hoping to be able to get a truck in Gary. If I can I'll leave for home tomorrow night and probably just sleep in the back seat of my pickup somewhere in central Illinois. Then I'll finish driving home Tuesday morning. I need to get a 36 hour reset in before I go pickup my truck so I probably won't get it until late Tuesday night or Wednesday Morning. I'll have to get my dad to give me a ride down to the Gary yard then to pick it up.
If I get a truck in NLR then I'll have to get a ride back down here some time in the next few weeks. In that case I'll just do my 36 hour reset here and then go on the road for 2-3 weeks before going home. Since I drove my self I was able to bring all of my stuff that I would usually take on the road with me and I have several weeks worth of clothing.

36 hour? I thought it was 34?
Draped up and drifted out. Know what I'm talking about? Three in the morning, just stashed up my stash spot. -

I really like taking pictures of stuff especially my trucks. I've been to plenty of places where pictures were not allowed and I am well aware of those signs and rules.
I'll be posting a picture of my truck once I get it so my truck number will be known soon enough.sarge26044 Thanks this.
