Another thing to remember about Canada, most every place will take the US dollar, but will give you change in Canadian. I tried to use my debit card most of the time. They would say that both dollars were par, but I would check my currency app and see that they weren't. The dollars change value all through out the day. Depending on your bank, you can come out ahead paying the current price, and then get charged the conversion fee your bank would charge. STAY OUT of the Husky truck stops, they never convert right and you loose money. Try and stick to the TA, Pilot, Flying J, 5th Wheel, and the service plaza's. These all do a pretty good job of keeping it straight.

When I drove tanker and was up there once a week, sometime twice a week, I did start saying Ay all the time. I didn't even notice it till my wife pointed it out. Also started saying "True enough" instead of okay or right.

sewerman Thanks this. -
Well today is rather boring. Woke up around 0730 for no reason. Sat around the hotel until around 1300 and then headed down to the campus. After sitting around the lounge there for about 2 hours they let me know that I wouldn't be able to meet my FM until tomorrow morning at 0900 and they would tell me where I'm getting my truck from at that time. Until then I just have to sit around at the hotel and wait.

Got my truck today. It was in NLR. Number is 12043. Its an early 2012 with 196k miles.
I spent 2 hours in the pouring rain trying to figure out some way of securing 2 8ft drop and one 4ft drop tarps to the back of my tractor. They should've had tarp boxes put on these like the Columbias had. I wound up using my 2 2inch straps to secure the 8 ft drops on the cat walk against the headache rack and then used 8 bungies to attach the 4 ft drop to the top of the storage box on the headache rack. Hourly they clear the trailer when I get one. Otherwise I might have to figure out some way of putting all three on the headache rack somehow.
While I was messing with those tarps I was talking to another driver who was folding his tarps and reorganizing his trailer. He asked if I was the guy who drive from Wisconsin for orientation. He said his wife had read about me on here and told him about me. Apparently he's met sewerman in person at some point as well. He said it was nice that people make these threads to get an idea of what Maverick is like.
For now I'm heading home to Milwaukee. I'm driving my pickup back and then I'm going to get a ride from my dad back to NLR this weekend. I'll go pickup my first load on Monday.
I didn't leave until almost 1500 today. I finally stopped for the night at the Pilot in Mount Vernon, Il. At least I have a crew cab so I have plenty of room to sleep. Going to have to use my sleeping bag though. I left my bedding and most of the rest of my stuff in NLR with my tractor.
Going to finish driving home tomorrow morning. I've got a few things to take care of at home before I go back to work.

Those tarps will go in the boxes on the trailer...when you get one.
I thought yall carried 4 tarps...2 big ones, and 2 steel tarps...plus the canvas tarps....did something change? -
Wait...never mind....I forget you're going glass.
Disregard everything I just said. -
I was going to say. Those boxes are going to be full of junk for each glass trailer. -
One more thing I thought I might add.
Whoever they have cleaning these trucks needs to chill with the Armorall wipes. I still can't get the smell off my hands and I just about slid out the passenger side door when I went to get up off the drivers seat to go into the sleeper for the first time. It started on my boots fit a while too. I was ice skating on the hard floors in McDonalds.
Shiny clean is nice, but that's just a little too clean.
