I'm training in a 2010 T660 so it's well taken care of. From what I have seen the older trucks are well taken care of. But I have only seen them from the outside but havent heard any drivers complaining about their truck.Skydivedavec and aka the one Thank this.

Hmmm After sitting here and reading this I think I might look into Millis. Already got my CDL so no worries about that and no need for all the training again.

Millis has been good to me thus far and I have no complaints. No company is perfect and I expect there will be issues from time to time.
They have delivered everything they said they would and then some. So time will tell.
Let me know and I can give you someone to call if you want. I get qc messages each day about them needing more drivers.Skydivedavec and maverick77 Thank this. -
I have a pre-hire with Prime on August 3rd. More and more I am not liking the thought of Prime. Not that every company is perfect and I am not looking for that. I just want a good solid company to work for. Decent miles, decent pay and decent equipment. I have no experience and Prime school/training is suppossedly top-notch. However, after reading your posts and others about Millis, I think I am leaning towards Millis. Now, the only question is the $2500 for schooling upfront. Going to take me a little while to save that up. With Prime I don't have to pay anything if I stay a year. I read somewhere in a different thread on Millis about $100 upfront and they finance schooling? My credit is shot so I know I won't qualify for financing. Any advice? Thanks again for all the posts. Glad to see you are enjoying the lifestyle.Skydivedavec Thanks this.

I went through prime driving school and worked for them. I have no regrets of it and there school I will say is top notch and you will learn a lot there.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Yeah I know. We've already PM each other before about training with Prime. I am just keeping my options open. That is the purpose of learning more about Millis. Remember Prime gauges a lot of things on the new truck simulators. I am a little weary of that. I know they help in situations such as bad weather, traffic, etc... but simulators don't help with shifting, backing, etc.Skydivedavec Thanks this.

Hey I wont lie mav, I am going to look into Millis more for when I get out here in a couple months. I cant agree with you more about the training on a real vehicle instead of a darn simulator.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Baritone....Haven't seen a post in a while, wondering how it's going. I read your exploits and they were very in informative. So much so that I drove up to Cartersville and had a chat with a few of the drivers. They were nice guys and gave me plenty of info. I'm curious to know how it's going thus far.
A general question I have for any Millis driver is about lodging. I've read in earlier posts that part of the deposit ($400) was applied towards lodging while you're in school. Although I live in GA, the distance I'll need to drive makes the fuel consumption expense comparable to a hotel room (a....cheap hotel room). So, the question: is lodging part of the tuition price? I would just prefer to spend my off hours studying as opposed to driving.
I suppose it won't matter because I'm making Millis my number one choice and Roehl my second. Both companies seem to be top rated according to the posts I've read, but I think that because of my situation, Millis edges out Roehl in 2 areas. First: Testing for the CDL License (getting it done while you're on the road using the truck you've been driving for a while) and Second: though both offer their own training programs, Millis is close to my home (minor) and from what I've read, the training seems more diversified (delivering loads while training). I didn't pick up on anything like that while reading Roehl posts, but I could have over looked it.Skydivedavec Thanks this.
