there is antenna plug in in the the truck that you just hook a regular antenna cable into just have to make sure your tv has a built in digital inverter box so your capable of picking up the digital channels now.

If you plan on having a laptop, you could also get watch tv through it, as well as watch dvd's. Different options available to do that. This could eliminate the need to buy a tv.

Liked what I have read about Millis so far, and like the fact they have a drop yard here in Baltimore. Just curious though..... do you have to have good credit to get financing through Millis, or do they just make you pay $500 up front and then you pay back the 2000 for schooling and 2500 for OTR without a credit check deducted at $20 per week? Just curious. Also, on hometime, I take it you drop off the trailer and BT home?

I don't know about the home time info but for training this is the way it was explained to me:

You pay $100 to reserve your seat in the class
You pay $400 the first day of school
You pay $20 a week to pay off the remaining $2000(100weeks)
The $2500 for riding with the trainer is waived if you stay with them for 1 yr, otherwise if you leave before then you get charged for it.

I'm not certain but I don't believe they do a credit check.

not sure about the schooling but when you go home you are responsible for finding a safe place to park the truck and trailer. the drop yard in in baltimore is a ups freight terminal that we just drop trailers at usually only have 4 or 5 trailers there at a time

Well my current living situation is very secure for the truck. However, not really enough room for the entire trailer. I know where the UPS freight terminal is in Baltimore... so you saying that is acceptable to drop the trailer there and pick it back up after hometime?

OK that makes sense. So basically you have to stay employed for about 2 years for you to receive the schooling free. The OTR training part is waived if you stay a year. So if you leave after a year you would just pay the balance remaining of the $2k for school?

Sounds reasonable. I just like what I've heard from Millis.

Correct, if you leave after a year you would owe the balance. Or you could bump your weekly paymnts to $40 and pay it all off in a year.

Now that sounds more like it. Why wait the 2 years. LOL! Anyway, thanks for the info.

Man - a lot of questions, but that's good!

I think Spanky has answered most of them pretty well. I do have the cooler but it works pretty well. I like it actually better right now due to space and the fact that I can take it out of the truck when I am on off time and clean it and not have to do it in the truck.

I wish I had the space that's in the T2's - but I have learned to adjust to the smaller T600. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a T2 or a "hand-me-down" Cascada when the time comes to change trucks. But I am sure that wont be for a long time.

As far as the location - Spanky is right. They just want to ensure the truck and/or trailer are in a safe place. I park the trailer in an old service station just outside the subdivision I live in. I made a deal with the station owner to park it there and he has my info should there ever be an issue. I then bob-tail to the house about 100 yards away. Everytime I leave the house I ride by the trailer (even when it's empty) to ensure it's ok.

As far as the costs goes - I would check with Mike Millis on that.

Has been a good week or so for me - ran from WI to Dallas - then got a load from Hutchins, TX going to Valdosta, GA. Loved that since I would go right though the area where my son is stationed and also deliver to the town where I other two son's are in college. So got the see all three of them without even having to take off time.

Once unloaded in Valdosta - was dispatched to Albany Brewery for a load going to Ft. Worth, TX. So right back to Texas I went. Dropped that on Saturday morning - then DH'd to Waco for a load going to Michigan. But was told to drop in our Streator yard.

Made it too Big Cabin, OK Saturday evening. Great truckstop and they have "All you can eat bisquits and gravy"! I'd died and gone to heaven.

Got up early today and headed for Streator. Stopped in MO and tried to get internet to watch the Atlanta Falcons game but had to settle for listening to it on satellite radio. Ran the rest of the way up and now sitting in the Streator yard relaxing.

*** If you're in Streator and want some good pizza - check out Planet Pizza......outstanding food!

Hope everyone's had a good week and a safe weekend. Will roll out of Streator in the morning!
