whats your average miles per trip, i know it can go from 200 to 600 per trip, so after a month or two, what would your average per trip be, i thinking around 400 to 500 miles per, thanks
-
my shortest trip was 127mi. don't see that much but it was on the back of an 800mi trip and hopefully a precursor to 1000 mi trip. Can't say for sur e because i got it today and have 14 mi left to delv after reset. these usually set you up for good trips though. I have had several ove 1100 mi and believe my longest 1,162 mi. just fell shy of 4,000 mi that week. id guess the avg. trip is 550 or so. hope this helps.
biker dave Thanks this. -
holly mad cow, i did'nt expect those kind of long trip miles, back in the late 90's maybe 700 was long, looks good, say do they still keep yens on RT-20 thru indiana and ohio, then pickup RT-2 on the other side of toledo,oh. to RT-90 cause the TOLLS are to much money, ran that route alot to new york, millis still looks better than werner or swift hands down, there school is alot cheaper to

I am trying to plan my trip to Wi and have a couple of questions. Trying to decide if I should drive, fly or ride a bus. I live in TX and MTI in Wi is 14 hours away. Soooo, I wanted to ask, after training is complete will I go straight in to orientaion and training? I am hoping being that far away I can just go straight into it. If that is the case will my trainer get me back home in the event I fly or ride a bus?
Motel: since Millis no longer pays for the room but now finainces it, will I be sharing a room?
I am also curious about students leavng the training. I have read numerous threads that talked about the turn over and people attending training only to realize it isn't for them. I have considered the amount of time I will be gone (I am single,....again
), the lifestyle, being alone, living in a truck and the problems associated with this industry in general. Am I overlooking anything that needs to seriously be considered before taking this jump?

As someone who has looked into Millis I offer this, now bear in mind I'm getting ready to go to school myself, but this is just what I've read and what I've gotten from guys I've talked to.
most people quit trucking because they dont realize how much they miss family and friends. A lot due it because they find out trucking is a job and it takes a lot out of you especially in the beginning. It's not all fun and games, you're going to have some real pissers sometimes.
Now as far as getting you home, you don't actually get your cdl upon completion of MTI. When you go out with your trainer and he feels you're ready he'll take you to your home state and you test out using the truck you've been training on.
Good luck to ya! -
Thank you Wulf! With that in mind think I will just fly out there!
