Did he ask about OTR positons or just local/regional? They are hiring - but I can tell you they are digging into backgrounds and records much more than in the past. Just FYI

    OMyStarz Thanks this.

no I was just saying smaller carriers like millis and my employer can be pickier about who and from where they hire people because they have allot of people wanting to work there.

Spoke with a guy named Craig....we called Cartersville (after calling the 800 recruiter number that said we were too far from Cartersville) and they referred us to him. Yes, husband asked for OTR.

He said the freight in the southeast region is slow and they aren't hiring in GA right now. He also said he liked his app and to keep his name and keep calling back because freight might pick up.

His DAC is clean and only 2 tickets will show up on a 7 year, one should show up on a 3 year but it was only failure to stop and non CMV.

Oh well....JB Hunt here we come! :biggrin_2555:

Thanks so much David for responding....I don't get it if you guys are getting qualcomm messages that say they need drivers out here. We are less than 40 miles from the Albany terminal. :biggrin_2554:

EDIT: Thanks so much for the spreadsheet. It's really nice! I am a fan of tabs and you've done a great job adding the monthly tabs at the bottom. Gotta love formulas!

QUOTE=TallGuy50;1746292]I'm in PA right near where 380/80/81/84 all pretty much come together. If I can swing by home on a run, that's great, but I agree with you. I think 3 weeks out fair on both ends. How long have you been with them? They keep you busy?[/QUOTE]

Not long. I got my own truck on 11/11/10. Went home for thanksgiving and christmas.
run a total of 29,993. Mi. So far and I expect it to pick up a bit. Im a guy who if im not home would just a soon get 4k in miles/wk. Been close a couple times. Some guys here subscribe to work 9.25 hrs! A day and never run out of 70. I on the other hand sit here on Thursday am and have to reset because I wont get any hrs back till Sunday with recap. But with reset ill be going at 18:00 tmrrow and get w more loads in by payday than the guy who doesn't reset. Im not home I might as well be working. You see if everything goes well and you start at midnight. You can actually drive 14 hrs a day. 00:00 to 11:00 break 11:00 to 21:00 and u got 3 hrs left for day. If u work that out u run out of 70 in five days take you 34 hr reset and still have 64 hrs left in pay week of course uv got to have breaks in there but u get the idea of how I can get an extra load or two this way. And rarely does it work out perfect but I usually get 12 or 13hrs in before break. Im just here to make money for the kids and wife and get home to them. So I hate to do an 8or 9 hr day I feel like I don't make enough in that time to justify giving up the other 16 that I could of spent with them and my dispatcher knows I want him to run me out of hours.....now, I don't want anyone to think I totally disagree with them if they run 9 hrs a day, I think u have to do what your comfortable doing. But sometimes I get 2 resets in a week due to being stuck in a slow lane with no load available and I get reset just due to waiting for a load with only 34 hrs worked if I only had run 18or 20 when I got the unforeseen break, I don't know how I could stand it cause I don't like it on rare occasion. Its happened to me.....well, Starting to ramble
now so i'll wrap up this long winded response with one last thought that probably isn't in my best interest but hope it helps one of you guys as that is what this thread of baritone's is all about....if u were a dispatcher and have a 1300 mi load that needs to be delivered in 2 days are u gonna give it to a driver with my philosophy or a driver that constantly runs 9 hrs a day? Best wishes Sully truck 7056

You're welcome - it's good to hear feedback like this so we can let recruting know. You most likely spoke to Greg (not Craig) as he is the trainer in Cartersville. Dont give up - it's a slow time for beer and when beer us is slow so is glass for the most part, but that will change very soon!

Not sure who we talked to in Cartersville, I do know he had a voice impediment, but wasn't able to get his name. He referred up to Craig up in Wisconsin at the 800 recruiter number.

As a side note, Craig did tell us due to freight being slow in the southeast that's why most of their drivers are running more north, so if you're staying north lately, that's why. :biggrin_25520:

Gosh I don't wanna go to JB!

No man. U heard wrong. I pay 70/ wk and contribute 60/wk to has to cover deductible. One of the lesser attractive benefits but the company makes the best choices it can to ensure they are around for decades to come and I can't fault them for that.
