Not long. I got my own truck on 11/11/10. Went home for thanksgiving and christmas.
run a total of 29,993. Mi. So far and I expect it to pick up a bit. Im a guy who if im not home would just a soon get 4k in miles/wk. Been close a couple times. Some guys here subscribe to work 9.25 hrs! A day and never run out of 70. I on the other hand sit here on Thursday am and have to reset because I wont get any hrs back till Sunday with recap. But with reset ill be going at 18:00 tmrrow and get w more loads in by payday than the guy who doesn't reset. Im not home I might as well be working. You see if everything goes well and you start at midnight. You can actually drive 14 hrs a day. 00:00 to 11:00 break 11:00 to 21:00 and u got 3 hrs left for day. If u work that out u run out of 70 in five days take you 34 hr reset and still have 64 hrs left in pay week of course uv got to have breaks in there but u get the idea of how I can get an extra load or two this way. And rarely does it work out perfect but I usually get 12 or 13hrs in before break. Im just here to make money for the kids and wife and get home to them. So I hate to do an 8or 9 hr day I feel like I don't make enough in that time to justify giving up the other 16 that I could of spent with them and my dispatcher knows I want him to run me out of hours.....now, I don't want anyone to think I totally disagree with them if they run 9 hrs a day, I think u have to do what your comfortable doing. But sometimes I get 2 resets in a week due to being stuck in a slow lane with no load available and I get reset just due to waiting for a load with only 34 hrs worked if I only had run 18or 20 when I got the unforeseen break, I don't know how I could stand it cause I don't like it on rare occasion. Its happened to me.....well, Starting to ramble
now so i'll wrap up this long winded response with one last thought that probably isn't in my best interest but hope it helps one of you guys as that is what this thread of baritone's is all about....if u were a dispatcher and have a 1300 mi load that needs to be delivered in 2 days are u gonna give it to a driver with my philosophy or a driver that constantly runs 9 hrs a day? Best wishes Sully truck 7056[/QUOTE]

Sully - you make some great points. However I will say this - I am one that trys to run about 8 to 9 hrs a day everyday. I dont need a reset as often as most do and I dont miss loads from doing a reset once or twice a week. I run (on avg) 2800 too 3200 miles per week doing it this way. I'll run at night when needed and in rare situations run a split.

So if I am given a 1300 mile run and it needs to be there - I get it there on time and usually hrs before due. And yes there are many times I have to run a full 11 hrs to get it there - but it's not always the case.

Im not dissproving your threory - just sayin!

Id call back in a couple weeks and then again in two more. Like baritone said it'll change soon. Try asking for Reid not that he's the man to get in there but it is he who keeps sending us mags saying we want more drivers. And I believe mike Millis is head of recruiting he may be able to give u a timeline and or more direct response. Best of luck.

Is Reid at the 800 recruiter number or in Cartersville?

Yeah but you know the guys im talking about." Appointment? Huh?" Lol!
I don't doubt for a second that you get there on time everytime.
Just sayin "who gets these loads? Without a conversation if ur a dispatcher? Don't u want to keep your guys in their comfort zone? It not like the 1300 mi ld is the only loadand there's plenty of 500mi stuff. Put yourself in the dispatchers shoes.
I definitely think though that when the freights there I will brk 4k this way. Either way I hate to sit if not with the family, can't change that.

800 # just tell him that u know that he may not be the guy you should be calling but u and I talked and I said he sent the messages out and may be able to help. A lot of us have been talking to people about Millis cause they asked us for help recruiting.

I also give kudos to BRR shop. I had service last week and gave them a full page of 81/2 X 11 paper plus 2 lines on back of stuff I wanted done to the truck most of it non critical. They did it all plus 2 items I didn't bother to write down. They are a real class act!

I think I originally missed one of your points baritone. My two resets a week have come because I got stuck in Trenton with no beer till Monday with only having worked 34 hrs in 3 days. Not common but sucks when it happens. Same happened to me in Albany once. My point was simply I can work 70 hrs in 5 days why take 8. When with reset can work 92 in 8days. If freight is there that's an additional 1100 mi. Again that's just me trying to justify my time out. Certainly wouldnt mean any disrespect. I have nothing but respect for how you conduct yourself and your work ethic. Frankly wouldn't be here without you stepping up to help us all the way you have. Just trying to pay it forward for those it helps brother. In effingham by the way if anyones Rollin through. Be here till tomorrow.
