Brear is corrrect - it's a simple urine test. Also know they do random testing once you're hired also. I have already been tested a second time in 8 months.

Man it's been a week of accidents everywhere - detours - delays and just plain traffic frustrations and it's not even summer yet.

Seems they are watching the weather and sending me where the worst weather is happening LOL!

Got a good run from Black River Falls, WI to Enosburg Falls, VT. Good roads for the most part out there and the views were breathtaking. Got to the customer early and he say's to me "do you have a pallet jack" since we dont have a dock? I was like - let me look in the side box....Nope no pallet jack in there! So he goes to a business around the corner and borrows a pallet Jack. Well I knew what was coming next - so I jumped up in the trailer and pallet jacked 22 pallet's to the rear so he could off load them. It's wasnt bad and actually was happy to get out and move around after the 1250 mile trip.

Finished unloaded early that morning and got a load out of Versailles CT going to Landrum, SC. This was a 321 mile DH and 865 loaded so I didnt mind one bit and off I went.

Get to Versailles with no problems and it's a drop and hook so I'm in an out very quickly. Now if you have ever been here you know you almost always have to go down 95 to get out. I get about 40 miles from the customer on 95S and there are not one but two accidents. I actually moved only 1.7 miles in 1 1/2 hrs. So enough of that - I hit a Pilot at the next exit and called it a day. I have plenty of time since it doesnt deliver until Monday morning and cant deliver early.

This morning - take my time and grab a shower and make some breakfast. As I am eating my break-fast I am listening to the CB (usually for my morning laughter) and I hear of an another accident on 95S - this one is not far away and it's bad. It appears a Bus Liner has flipped and so far there are 10 dead. I check my map and ask a few drivers for thier opinion and it appears I can get to 287 and go around the accident. It was at exit 14 on 95. As I got closer I tuned into a local NY City AM station and heard the death toll was now at 13 with 19 others hurt and 6 of those were extremely critical.

I get down to 287 and take that around to 78 and then down to 81. Dont much care for 81 since it's all hills and this T6 doesnt pull with a flip! I only had 32.5 in the box but it pulled like it was 45K due to the hills. I finally get down 81 and merge on to 77S with only 185 miles to go to the customer and then - I hear it again - accident on 77S - all lanes south are shut down. No Pilot, Flying J or TA in sight - I figured I would just hit the rest area and call it a night. Well I find out the accident is before the rest area so I am thinking what do I do now. As I come to exit 1 I see it.........off in the distance it's a Beautiful "Loves" T/S. Pull in - make a good dinner and here I sit. No hurry to leave in the morning since I have only 180 miles to run - so will try to find a truck wash tomorrow and do a little cleaning and just relax.

Hope everyone is well and please be safe!

I wish I did - the weather in SC today is just beautiful. Got out the Orange cleaner and cleaned the crap out of the inside - windows and all. Didnt get it washed since it's showing rain for Monday - but that's on my list early this week.

We need to meet up again Man - we got a lot of catching up to do!

You plan your own routes. That's one HUGE thing I like about Millis, they don't tell you where to run or where to fuel(for the most part). You can get directions from the nearest interstate on in to the customer from the QC.

Just as Bear said - you aren't told how to run it. We know to stay off toll roads when we can, we fuel at just about any Pilot, Flying J and TA. We have a fuel book to follow.

It's your job to plan it out. That's why I take at least 1/2 hr once I'm dispatched to plan it out before I move the truck. But that's just me. Some like to figure it out as they go - I's ain't that smart!
