You will find that detention will have a lot to do with the board you are running on. If you are on a regional board and expect to get home every 2 weeks then your chances of delivering and picking up live loads are greater since you won't be running across country due to the difficulty getting you home ontime.
Detention is paid after 2 hrs. If that depends on the ccustomer paying it then I can't say. I always get it but don't have much. I think last month I had 3 hrs detention.
Hope this helps.

It would be the van division out of indy. Do you really do 80% drop and hooks?
Just of of curiosity tow how much did you avg the last few years for gordon? If you doint mind me asking... -
80% drop and hook is accurate for the Midwest. More so on US fleet since you have longer runs. -
But my wife and I made 6 figures every year here. She left the truck to go back to school so I can retire in a couple years. I have a few years on her.

This week I left Spokane, ran down to Pasco and took that to OKC. From there to Russellville, AR to Manchester, PA. Good week to say the least, only problem was all night driving because of hours.

I give up arguing with nitwits and lunatics so, I'm gonna continue what I started here. It's been a very productive month. I'm pretty sure I made some miles, haven't done the math, but it was busy. Miles keep getting better, and getting into a groove helps. As I've said before, the planners here know how to kick your butt if you're willing to get after it. Another one of the nice things about Gordon is they own their own freighliner dealership. Actually I think it's like 3 now. Most times, get in, get out and back on down the road. One of the things I like is if you're broke down at a terminal, you can run another truck until yours is done. Keep on making money. I'm going to bed. No, you can't cuddle with me either.

joseph1135 Thanks this.

This week so far is good despite the holiday. Left PA for Edwardsville and then up into Chicagoland. Then back to Edwardsville, grabbed a load to Columbus and have a reload back to PA that I can deliver tomorrow. I think we get paid for Labor Day but I'm not sure. Tow614, do you have any ideas.
