20+ years ago I had a Connex 3300 with a Texas Star 250 and could talk mobile to mobile to a buddy that lived right at 100 miles from me, Barely, but we could any day or night. Someone decided that they needed my setup more than I did.
Just got a Connex 4300/300 and am very happy with the results. 20-30 miles and have caught a base that lives about 60 miles from me.
