I'll stay at our terminal in Winterhaven. I learned early on that trying to find anywhere else to stay is a fool's errand.
-
I parked at the J in Reseca GA last night and forgot to log off after I finished my inspection, leaving me with 23 hours on duty instead of 10 hours of rest.
It's something I seem to do regularly...just to prove that I'm human, I guess.
Fortunately, I don't leave for my Orlando deliver until later tonight, but I now have to deal with Safety to get the log changed...

I used to the same and I have no idea why this company doesn't allow it. But they don't.

Two things while I sit here at a Flying J on a long break until I get 8 hours back tonight.
1. The fuses for the 12-vDC receptacles in this Pete are listed as 'cigar' on the schematic and are found in all kinds of circuit breaker boxes all over the truck near the receptacle itself. The techs at our Winter Haven shop replaced all the bad ones and I found one that I think is a bad receptacle; as soon as I plugged my test pigtail in, it failed again. Replacing the unit is a lot more challenging than merely replacing a breaker. The biggest aggravation is it's one of the two up front that I wanted to just from my GPS or satellite radio. They will just have to keep sharing one.
2. In addition to replacing circuit breakers, they also installed the inverter I've been carting around for months. And of course, I realized something as I was reading the owner's manual...I have nothing that needs an inverter!
Gonna have to change that... -
Spending the "night" at Love's near Paducah. I'm enjoying Love's less and less. They have the best reward program, the lowest fuel prices, and the smallest facilities of the national brands; they normally have 6 or 8 diesel lanes and that is not nearly enough. And now they have started closing one to Tire Pass users only. That is a very bad idea when they don't have many to begin with. These factors combine to make them always crowded and often unpleasant to deal with.
Fortunately, this is one of the newer ones, so it's larger...and I got here at 9:30 a.m.Last edited: Aug 26, 2016
