Truck assigned, DM identified, now awaiting First Load.
Oh. My final road test was done in a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia hooked to a dry van with 46,000 pounds in the box and less than 110,000 miles on the odometer. Fortunately for me, the trainer doing the test wasn't going to fail me once he learned I'd never driven one before. It is very, very different, but I could get used to it very, very quickly!
Alas, mine is not an auto. Yet...
My new, final resting place

PS. I've never really been one for the "feel" words, preferring the "think" word. My brain logic is sound; my heart sensations, maybe not so much.Mtn Gal Thanks this. -
Glad to hear you're free of your trainer. I personally know I could not have put up with that situation.
Good luck to you.
Post up pics of your securement in the flatbed section. There are a bunch of good guys over there that will offer pointers and not turn it into a bash session. -
MJ1657 Thanks this.

Oxford, NC heading for Aberdeen, MD. I hope this is taking me home...this truck is nice, but I need my tunes and my foam mattress topper. This bad boy is old and hard.
The good thing about this shipper is there are about 200 flatbed trucks here, so we aren't out on the road terrorizing the normal people! -
Virginia rest area and I am totally whipped after having double-tapped a load of shingles going to Maryland tomorrow. Lose weight? Oh, I'm going to lose weight.

The one thing I absolutely hate tarping is shingles... Granted they are about the easiest thing you will ever tarp but it just seems so ridiculous to me to tarp roofing
Mtn Gal Thanks this. -
Goodluck in your new venture. I think you will really enjoy flatbedding. Someday's I hate it and others I love it. One thing is for sure, and that is that you will feel great satisfaction at times when you have a difficult load to tie down or tarp. Once it is done and your rolling you will have a little more pride in it compared to a driver who just bumped a dock and took a nap while getting loaded

Oh I don't know about that Rugerfan, at my age there is a lot to be said about a good nap!
