Well, no...and a marker light replacement. My company doesn't fuel here but they do require the driver to find a place that will fix things and they have an account at TA-Petro.

You know all it is on a cascadia is to undo the little cap over the light, pull the lights out, put a new one in and off you go. A hell of a lot quicker than waiting for TA to get around to it. It's literally a 3 minute job. I always carry spare bulbs, wipers, mud flaps, etc. I hate waiting on people, and it saves money in the end.

And you unscrew things using your fingers? Nah. You see, I haven't been home since being hired, so I have no tools or much of anything. Besides, my delivery isn't until Monday, so there's no time or money lost. And the company pays for it.

What was wrong with the trailer blinker wasn't the bulb; whoever worked on the connector before bent one of the three prongs. Bet you don't carry those! 😬

Yes. It's just a plastic lid to protect the light.

Well, I went and did it. Something I've successfully resisted for years and even now I'm not sure why. And in the process, became a Real Trucker.

I went and bought and installed a new CB radio.

You see, PFJ has a May/June CB special on the Bearcat 880...$50 off the $149.99. It's a complete package, including the microphone, and has the weather channels, which will be very useful, so I'm all set.

Except that the same kind of, um, 'banter' is what I expected and got. Lots of local retailers hawking their wares (Do any of you drivers want your truck interior cleaned and detailed today? Or how about coming over and eating some catfish and barbque?) which isn't that bad; gotta make a living, after all, and truck drivers have cash.

Then here are the racist, sexist, profane users...

My trip to TA took a total of an hour and cost the company $73. Not bad for having it done right, including the tail light, which now blinks happily! Alas, they were out of the diamond-shaped marker lights, so the one I have will have to continue working intermittently.

Now to have fun watching tired, cranky truck drivers try to back into the remaining few parking spaces...!
