There is no way I would sit all weekend over 800 pounds.
I would figure out how to fix the load myself.
I would figure out how to get around the scales.
    I would figure it out.
Why did you wait till Saturday morning to scale it?
I know I will probably get negative responses to this post. I am positive most experienced drivers would not have sit on this load.

    double yellow Thanks this.

That was my thought. I've been down the overweight axle once before. Getting stuck in a weigh station until someone comes to change things was not an experience I wanted to repeat.

At least here, I can drain my tank and credit card!

    1. How would "most experienced drivers" move three 2,500 pound pallets to make room for two others? Me, I'm not strong enough.
    2. How much out-of-route fuel are "most experienced drivers" willing to buy? Me, none.
    3. The shipper closed for the weekend while I was on-site Friday afternoon. I waited until Saturday morning to scale because it didn't matter.
    4. "Most experienced drivers" might be willing to jeopardize their CDL over this; these are the same bozos who want me to speed through a construction zone because they think no LEO is there. I am not.

    DD....

a wise man once told me.."if you want to be successful : only take advice from succesful people"

i would say if no one has anything helpful to advise someone who is trying to learn how to properly do his job then keep the criticism to yourself....

It's not 800 pounds; it's 800 pounds overweight. I am allowed 40,000 pounds on the trailer axle and have 40,800. The problem is the two 2,700 pound pallets sitting on the whale tail, almost as far back as possible, 51' from the kingpin. The shipper's loaders shouldn't have put anything that far back but did.

I am fully aware you are 800 pounds over weight.
I have no problem with any driver that does the right thing and waits all weekend to get the shipper to fix the load.
I gave another prospective of what I would do.
Please do not take it personal. I just stated that I would not wait.
I would figure out a way to deliver the load.
My concern is you will have to fight to get compensated for your lost time. I hope you get paid for waiting. You deserve to be paid well.

Walk around the truck stop parking lot.
Look for an owner operator pulling a flat bed or hopper bottom.
Make sure the driver is over 45 yrs old and has atleast 20 years experience.
Now explain your situation to this driver. I am sure the driver has been in your situation dozens of times. Listen to what the driver has to say about it. You may learn something.

There's no starving and no death. Only compliance in preparation for June 2-4!
