Once again, it appears that I may have validated the "Monday-Friday" work schedule for this company. I run good, like a crazy man since Monday, and made my delivery in time today, but here I sit in the Pilot, waiting...waiting...and burning clock.

    Crap.

That is good news. Since you mentioned it, I checked my truck and found a stash of chains under my bunk. Seems I've been carrying a couple hundred pounds of chains for nothing! Well, next time I'm in Nashville...but I'm not in a hurry to go there!

After falling off the trailer yesterday - again without injuring myself seriously - and most likely sitting in this Flying J truck stop for the rest of the weekend due to no loads in my area - this company is definitely a M-F operation and that drives me nutz - I have seriously begun to look at other non-flatbed companies. It takes a bit to make me start looking and I still have that boulder I'm carrying, but look I must.

I really do not like flatbed work.

I thought Western Express did dry vans also.

They do. They just don't hire van drivers in Michigan; only flatbed.

I've been pondering adding some letters to my CDL because there are some interesting carriers...food grade tankers and some reefers that require hazmat. Studying for the test would give me something to do on these do-nothing-for-the-company weekends...

I've thought about them more than once. Local guys, they might overlook some minor issues. And they run their trucks pretty good. I just don't think they have APU's.
