I blame the bloody political battle, unrest in Europe, changes to the environment, the fact that my first-ever girlfriend died of lung cancer because she took up smoking...and anything else.

Of course, I do not blame my own laziness. No way. Nyetski.

Hi Tow, I lived in near Scranton PA most of my life. Do u get up that way with Big G a lot? I'm still considering a move there but haven't jumped yet. I now live in Greer SC. Lots to consider when changing job, just weighing it all out before calling.

After getting my reset done this past weekend, I headed for my delivery, which went off without a hitch. In fact, it's the kind I like best: Small, local beer distributor located on the outskirts of a small rural town. One guy working the forklift, mthenphone, the "check-in" (which was him taking the two copies of my bills) then my returning to the teuck to await the bumping and grinding of the forklift as it removed the product.

Process done quickly, the same guy hands me my copy, and wishes me a good day.

    Yeah, if only.

Turns out the trailer I was pulling, and a lot of the same series trailers, had the wrong license plates attached! I was instructed to head to DePere to make the change, where I've been all day. So much for my "good day."

Tomorrow, I make an early morning pickup at Nestle - which could turn out to be a late evening pickup, the way they work - and head to Indy for the drop; it's the same trip I made last week. After that, who knows.

But I did tell my DM to look for a hometime request from me near the end of the month. April is Tax Month and I have a bunch of work to do in that area...

But until then, I need to make money to pay Unkle Sahm.

Some days, I just hate that I'm still working and not home "enjoying" the 50-55 mph winds. Today is one of those days.

    I know. I sound cranky. I am.

Never think that whatever you've experienced is "as bad as it gets." I used to, but Nestle fooled me and turned that belief on its head today.

After making my Nestle pickup in Wisconsin, I headed overnight to my drop at Nestle in Indianapolis. As with my pickup spot, I'd been here before...last week...and wasn't impressed with their timing then.

But oh, was I about to be surprised. Very, very surprised.

When I walked up to the receiving clerk, he told me they were working on unloading yesterday's trailers and "maybe" they could get to me in "10 to 12 hours."

    Maybe.

A call to my DM revealed that yes, indeed, they knew about the problem since last night - that would be the "last night" before I left. And we didn't tell you because, you know, things change. That's trucking. But don't worry, driver; we've already approved your $100 detention pay!

So here I sit again. After getting a reset over the weekend and having a 16 hour break yesterday, looking at another long break. Feeling really wealthy, too, what with my approved $100 detention pay and all. And having one banana and a bag of trail mix for food...and no idea who, if anyone delivers to this parking lot.

And all for a couple of 350-mile runs. Vat a bizzness!
