Until the shippers/ receivers have to pay detention and the company Ur driving for pays the driver a viable hourly wage that whole waiting game will continue to stink.
-
The company actually charges $50 per hour detention but they only givr you peanuts.
4mer trucker Thanks this. -
Oh, it's worth it. Stuff like this happens, but not that often. To balance it, I just spent an hour talking with another WEL driver who is here waiting, too. That camaraderie make the angst worth it.

No. I can't leave a trailer with product.

Nestle doesn't normally agree to pay detention, but they did in this case because they're so far behind; it must have been their fault.Mtn Gal Thanks this.

THAT is the #1 problem with regard to waiting as shipper and receivers. If the feds would pass legislation FORCING them to pay detention, the waiting game would virtually disappear and we'd all be loaded/unloaded within 2 hours.
That will NEVER happen, though...4mer trucker Thanks this. -
Only 1,700 miles last week. Sucks, but I did have some trips. Our freight was slow company-wide. Hopefully, Hingis will improve as the weather I loves. I liked that 3,000-mile week!
