i saw drivers having a fit and refusing loads when there was no directions on the qualcomm at my first company.
our company is the worst for directions.and uses no technology like gps
. they think your messing with them when you ask for an address.
a driver should be able to take an address any where in the country and trip plan to get there

I had an address with a PO Box once. Sometimes get an address that doesn't work on the gps. I can usually get good directions from the customer though,

I use Google Maps to see what kind of building the shipper or receiver is in if I'm not familiar with it or the area already. It also helps me find nearby parking areas or whether there might be a staging area on the property I'm going to.

I also use it if I need a rough - a very rough - idea on how long the trip will take me. Since it's not truck-specific, I do not use it for navigation.

Sometimes it looks like I have lots of room on Google Earth. Then I get there barely enough to get through because of all the crap there. Yes the room is there but just taken up with crap.

I believe the younger generation is becoming socialist, needs the Government to make all the decisions for them and take care of them, scary, as they will be running this country in the future and us old timers will be living the consequences.

No danger of them running this country...

They would have to get off their arses first

This has been an interesting first trip out of hometime.

Yesterday, I parked at a Love's and watched three local police u it's block in a truck that was parked with the hood open. The occupants must have been "suspicious." All three were male, had beards, and two wore a turban. The police left after an hour or so with nobody in custody and as far as I could tell, no citation issued.

Today, I pull into a Love's to end my day 5 hours from my receiver. Right after I get in, a truck pulls in. The very-animated male passenger is gesturing wildly to the female driver on how to get into a parking space. There is a momentary delay as the cab pulls into the empty space next to me and out of my view; the next thing I know, the male is driving and backs like he's the only truck in the lot.

What I hadn't noticed was the all-black passenger car stopped in the street. When the truck finally pulled its brakes, the car pulled into the spot next to the truck and two rather imposing males got out. For the next two hours, there were papers exchanged and clipboards and photos - of what, I couldn't tell--there was no sign of damage on either the car or the truck - and then both vehicles departed.

So what is it about Love's and law enforcement in the South, anyway?

You're all spoiled . Map book and a ruler . Pay phone to get directions from the receiver with a pencil and pad . CB for local if you get lost when you get there .
