Between Springfield and Rolla on my way to make the final drop tomorrow morning. The next preplan has me doing something new in my career...driving into "The Caves," to pickup some Kraft product to take to Texas. Most of the driving and all of the backing and loading is done 100' underground I'm told. I'm kind of excited and hope it works out; my company also does above ground drop/hook preloads.

And, if the Time God is in a good mood, might be able to stop in Lawton and see the grandkids and my daughter for a short while. Her husband, my Army son-in-law, is being transferred to Ft. Meade in Maryland and they leave Lawton next week. Seeing them now would be nice. And convenient.

Been inside the cave twice. Second time was much easier than the first.

Hope you get to see the little ones before they have to leave.

I live in Alabama, and if I ever decided wanted to get back in a truck, I would have to go with an outfit that would let me take my wife and get through Pennsylvania a good bit cause that is where our grandson is.

I went inside twice...on the same day. And you're right; the second time was much easier, what with understanding that those "columns" are rock and they will win any collision brought about by tandems being slid all the way back before getting lined up at the door...a very bad idea! I even ended up with the same door, 5H!

I hate those hills they call mountains in western PA. It seems in always at gross weight when I go or come from there. I've never happier and sadder to see the Ohio Turnpike!

I didn't. As things work out, the loading in the caves took too long then the receiver changed my appointment time from "anytime" to noon. I had to hustle to get there on time, which I did.

And my daughter was feeling real sick, so I guess it was a good thing. I'm disappointed, but it's not the first time.

Now I'm waiting nearby to be loaded for Macon.

My noon Sunny D load wasn't ready for me at 5:00 pm and then I learned that it won't even be loaded until Monday. So here I sit at the Petro in Atlanta where, miraculously, I found a spot at almost 8:00 pm! Maybe I should buy a Power Ball ticket, eh?

And I learned some sad news just now. The Gordon Trucking Inc name will be totally, permanently dissolved August 15. That's sad.

    4mer trucker Thanks this.
