I was looking at your trailer again and I didn't see any side marker lights till I had to look really close and I see they are about flush with the skin. Kinda neat. My 2013 Timpte has the little round lights up in the top front corners only, the rest are the regular rectangle ones. They must of made that light package an option I am assuming?
-
Yes that is the BULLET light options

Nice! Couple of questions, just the two hoppers, or a third out the back? If just two, do you ever have an issue getting enough weight on the back end, say with a lighter product like oats, or 46lb barley? Looks like your side walls are a lot lower than on my trailers? Guessing you don't need that much height cause you have the length? Oh, and a truck question, very similar changes to what I've done, what is the sweet spot that your's likes to run at loaded? (Double over 13 I'm guessing?) Mine prefers 1500-1650 now, mostly in 17th loaded, 18th is too fast for our broken up highways. BTW I don't see much snow in your trailer pics? Want some? Still 2' up here. Ok, so it ended up being 6 questions, lol.
-
Yes just the two hoppers. I have never had any issues with the weight problme with just the two hoppers. I don't haul much light commodities. I think it would be an issue if I did, but like I said in this neck of the woods not alot of barley or oats. I have hauled some flax but didn't have to go through any scales HA HA.
Side walls are 72. As far as the truck goes you hit the nail on the head that is about where I try to run mine also. Snow, yes I do have snow not as much as you folks but I do have snow. The pics where taken where I picked the trailer up. That is south of Shellby, MT. I live over in the northeastern corner of the state. The snow can go away anytime.04 LowMax Thanks this. -
why did u get trailer with rear lift axle? I prefere pusher lift axle. When u rise pusher axle u add load on fifth weel for traction help!
-
I think they add rear lift axle so when running empty you can lift it and there is less rolling resistance and so you can raise the axle or take some weight off it when turning to avoid scuffing the rear tires. If his trailer is 50 feet and with a rear lift he will greatly save on his rear tires with that lift. I have seen some triple hopper trailers that can lift the front and rear axles while running empty.
Fishell Trucking Thanks this. -
Believe it or not when you lower that axle it raises the air psi on the drive suspension. With that being said would it or would it not be putting more weight on the drives? So then when I lower my lift on the truck it decereases the psi on the drive suspension or lessens the weight. It also is nice for shorter truning radius. And what SAR said.

Did you go with the aluminum upper coupler & subframe or is it still steel?
-
Steel because I am in an out of tight approaches and didn't think the aluminum would be as sturdy as the steel.
