We have an '06 that I wired up for turn/brake lights in the rear header, pretty easy to do & makes it a little safer.

I probably sound like a Timpte salesman but I haul feed ingredients for a living. I own a 1990 Timpte also that I have had the rear crossmembers replaced and the front one's reworked. Most don't understand the rear tubes rust from the inside. Hard to see when you are buying a used trailer. That trailer has had some load that shouldn't have been on it and is still rolling.

I haul feed ingredients also, Seems like the cross member right behind the front axle is the first one to go but if you can run a torch & a welder there not to bad to replace. I know the day will come when my convertahopper will need a cross member replaced.......not looking forward to that.

I had a local weld shop do mine because I didn't have the equipment to do it at the time. He did a really good job.

Used 1/4" tubing instead of 3/16"....the trailer I have now has 1/4" tubes because of the double lift axles. Plus some extra bracing.
