You didn't do your homework. Its almost impossible to fail the test, unless you just had a triple espresso. You may have some health problems you are not aware of. Can't blame Schneider.

I have read every post on this thread and one thing comes to mind. Recruiters. They are in this business to the same thing we are doing and that is make money. Some get payed a commission, others payed by the hour or salary. Recruiters don't always give all the correct information. In my honest opinion I feel that the second physical test should have been giving in Fl. where the OP lived. Oil field work is a very physically intensive laboring job. By Schneider bringing him their and giving this test afterwards just doesn't seem right. Relocating such a long distance can be very stress inducing.
I am glad the OP has landed with a company that listened to his story and are giving him and his dog a chance. No one should be homeless because a company can't get all their facts straight. I have worked for Schneider in the past on the van side and for that time, it was ok and pay was decent. I deffinetly would not want to be their now. As the OP stated, most of the mega's don't pay well at all.
Good luck with new chapter bud!CertifiedSweetie, Romans612 and HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thank this. -
I'm glad you found something quickly. Good luck
pattyj Thanks this. -
quite frankly I'm surprised they allowed any testing before you arrived for orientation. I would think such a large company would want you to do all your testing with one of their doctors. I know that's what we do, many a person has gone home on a bus after not passing the physical.

yea, these companies suck. back about 2003 I called j b hunt inquiring about some dedicated driver positions they were advertising in il. the recruiter said I would have to drive otr for some time to qualify . told her no thanks and hung up. they will do anything to fill their trucks.
-
Well I also drive and train for Schneider. I agree the test should have been done in Florida. Was it a bait and switch? No, had the test been passed nothing more would have been said. But, I still feel bad for you and I'm sorry it went down like that. Best of luck.

That is an unfair criteria of "Hiring Practices". I realize that you are a long term and valued member here and this is in no way a personal attack at you. But this kind of "Bait and Switch" deal is rampant and should be unlawful. Period. By any one that conducts business this way. Trucking or any kind of employment. Knowing full well that they are luring someone in like that is a horrible way to treat anyone. If they are so suspicious of the Medical Community that they insist on that kind of harassment ( and it is harassment because it is not a Mandate/ Law ) then they are not worth working for. It shows the attitude of the organization will always be to treat the Employee as someone ( or as they look upon them, something ) to be used and used up. Never ever trust a Recruiter that doesn't even work for the company that they are "recruiting" for. If you have to deal with more than One Recruiter then you should walk away and go elsewhere. These jobs simply do NOT pay even close to what these companies think their worth.Toomanybikes Thanks this.

How can you say that it wasn't a "Bait and Switch" ????? The first thing they did was tell him "Oh, that jobs filled but you could apply for San Antonio......for less pay, of course. " Then after the medical test that he didn't pass, offer him yet another job ! They showed a pattern that a Lawyer could make a strong case on in a Court. Open your eyes, sir.drvrtech77, brsims, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this.
