great company to work for. hang in there the last 5 go fast, stay off the cones....lol do as much as you can with your trainer by yourself for two reason. 1st you will learn it better, 2nd he will respect you more and start helping you do it and you guys will work as a team not a trainer and trainee. I loved the company just not the right time. THATS HOW I ROLL. LOL... oh yea enjoy the steal plants, they are slow...

I lasted a month before I decided it wasn't for me either. I was only making $300-$400 a week though, sitting a lot and had trouble with security parking the rig over the weekends. Plus some personal issues with being away from home.
Don't feel bad, it is hard especially if you have a wife and kids at home. As they say OTR trucking is a lifestyle not just a job. Do you have any experience in tractor trailers? Cause most local jobs won't touch you unless you have at least 2 years experience. I am finding it hard to find Class A driving jobs cause I have only 6 months total. One company might hire me on cause I have 20+ years in class B's without an accident or tickets.
Good luck to ya in your future prospects. Stick around here if you can and help out others with your advice and experience at TMC. -
Hey ex88m. Sorry to hear, but I fully understand. Im on the road with my driver trainer, hes also a great guy. im currently waiting for a steel plant to load us. things are good, but my better half is not happy at all!! I dont know what tomorrow holds for me. However, TMC has lived up to their end. I have no complaints. good luck Doc. Keep us posted.

A union steel plant thats slow........ really?!?!?!
its not all bad, ive been to places that had the coil on the truck 20 minutes after i got there and other i had to wait 5 hours for one to weld tips on i beams.
Ex88, sorry to hear that but the little ones are only little for so long.
Blind, im waiting for my dinner. Ill settle for a plate from big d. Anyone thats been to the pilot in milford, ct will know what im talking about. Oh and it good that the better half isnt happy. My ex wife was happy when i was gone. (Note EX-wife) Your old lady being upset your gone means she misses you. -
I only ate wendys when i was in milford. Last time i was theere i busted my finger at the plant we load slinkies out of and night dispatch insisted on me going to the ER. Long boring night for my stupid finger and the look on the nurses face when i handed her my med record copy i keep with me from the corp.... priceless. I guess she didnt think a 26 y/o could have that many medical problems from just 4 years in the military.

Big d delivers the plate right to your truck in a minivan. His wife cooks all day long. Nucor, i dislike that place. Only loaded slinkies once but got wire mesh from there a couple times. And you should filed workers comp. You know you wanna lick stamps in dsm
