And to the don't set the brakes to allow the truck to idle, that doesn't work either. -
I give my DM an A plus rating for finding a run back to OKC, so I can get the apu fixed.
I know she didn't have to do this, but she certainly has given me the impression that she cares.RedDirtDriver Thanks this. -
Annnd I got to take a 34 south of Ft Collins Colorado. Delayed the load because of the reset. I called DM, she relayed the message.
Orientation pay for experienced drivers sucks, its 100 bucks for four days. Oh well, it is life.RedDirtDriver Thanks this. -
Horrible company every single Deparment is so mismanaged and unorganized. Let me sum it up. .44 cents a mile turns into .28 per mile plus .10 for forced per diem which is not revealed till the third day. Miles are paid by pc mile short miles, you have to fight for layover pay when you're at the dealer all day getting truck fixed or setting all weekend on a 400 mile run you pick up on Friday. Home time is a joke. I worked there 1 month and saw the house for a total of 4 days. Worst part is the dispatchers can't plan and you will be lucky to get 2000 miles a week and be forced to log everything illegally to even get that due to long waiting periods between loads and the usual shipper and Rec. bs. This company brags about being regional with good home time and miles and "a family atmosphere" what a joke. Truck and trailer maintenance is non existent and they will take money out of your check if they think you damaged something. Oh and forget about getting your last pay check in a timely manner even after you give notice and bring truck back cleaner than when you got it. This place should be or will be out of business soon.

Meh, I take what I can get.
The first week I logged 3500 miles, which was from OKC to Everett, WA and back.
So far this week I went to Duke, OK to pick up drywall to take to KC. I have a load of brick to pick up in Bonner Springs to take to Enid.
I got my APU fixed yesterday. Truck runs good, engine brake works when it wants to, more often not than anything else.
Troy (the owner) personally called me, and said not to wait longer than 15 minutes anywhere around Kansas or Oklahoma. He said that because sometimes the information doesn't go through the computer properly.RedDirtDriver Thanks this. -
As far as logging stuff, I'm running the electronic logs, so I can't get away with much.
The longest I have sat is an hour to unload and that was today.
4 days home a month is pretty standard for OTR drivers, anything better than that is called local in my opinion.Sneakerfix and RedDirtDriver Thank this. -
Does Paul Inc. still have a yard or terminal in OKC? I thought they did at one time.

They used to be headquartered in Enid. The trucks were worked on in OKC at one point. All the dynasys apu's are repaired in OKC at boomer diesel repair.
What I was told was, with headquarters in one area and repair in another, they made the decision to move everything to Tulsa. I don't know if it was lack of space in Enid or what the deal was.
As for maintenance, they are building a new shop on the property in Tulsa.RedDirtDriver Thanks this. -
I ran from OKC to Duke, OK for a load of drywall. I took this from Duke to KC, KS. Return load was from Bonner Springs, KS to Enid, OK.
I went from Enid to Medicine Lodge, KS for more drywall to go to Grand Island, Nebraska. Nebraska is in the morning, as I was close to being out of hours when I preloaded tonight.
Troy himself asked me when I wanted to go home, I told him I know freight needs to move, so whenever its possible. I told him i hadn't been home yet since orientation and he tried to send me home today, but being broke it would not do me any good, so home time is planned for friday.RedDirtDriver Thanks this.
