Busting ### as usual. On a 4 stopper to NJ.
Got done a real solid by the GP staff, not so much the shipping department. Last two times in GP wait times of 22 and 15 hours respectively. Every time I walk into shipping office 8-10 fork lifts sitting idle, just doesn't make any sense. If anyone reading this thread has any pull to actually get some drivers hired for the fork lifts that would greatly help matters.
Also I should have been clearer on where the loss of the 10K $$$$ that I anticipate. It is not so much the electronic logs which certainly aren't going to help matters but the additional day being added to all the trips. Perhaps this has been fixed somewhat as I am rarely in GP but it definitely needs to be looked at. Trips should be based on 550 miles a day. There is no need to have a 3 day trip to Jacksonville, FL.
Regular schedule example
2 days to Jacksonville - 2 days BH -- repeat, take 2 days off (8 days, 4000 miles, 2 days off, 36.5 times a year == $75,920)
New schedule with extra day added
3 days Jacksonville -- 2 day BH -- repeat, take 2 days off (10 days work, 4000 miles, 2 days off, 30.42 times a year == $63,273.60)
That difference is HUGE. More work days, less home time, less money and more stress. Again if someone reading this can get the the number of days situated properly for each load it would be a great help. The above is just an example that can be extrapolated to a number of loads and situations with the same detrimental affect on our bottom line.Last edited: Mar 6, 2017

Well NJ was a cluster #### today, big surprise thereBH was slow getting back to me but managed to snag a nice run back to Irving for Friday afternoon. Should be looking at another 40K mile quarter (with 16 days at home this time) if I can snag any load at all on Saturday out of the yard. That will put me right at 112,000 miles for 9 months which is pretty #### awesome and a decent chance to hit 150K for the year.

Bah, forgot to write down my exact hub miles before turning paperwork in but will check back in on loaner truck tomorrow to get it, a little over 3600 miles for the NJ trip back to GP. Offered about 10 or so loads for Saturday and took the money maker, 1 stop to Lebanon, OR for Wednesday morning. A nice 2300ish mile 4 day jaunt with hopefully something good following it up. Will have a real solid 80,000+ miles for the last 6 months after finishing up tomorrows run. Le bon temps roule

A stellar 4100+ mile 7 day extravaganza just knocked out. At home until Tuesday, needed the break as some real hard running over the last 3 weeks. Well sports fans an average of 529.2 miles a day while away from home may just be a record for a 68 mph truck over 13 weeksOn track for a $90,000 dollar year at the current pace.
Went on some new roads for me this last outing. Always thought about taking NV430 north of Winnemucca into OR but that road into OR is not marked as a truck road. Called OR DOT and it is good for '53 ft trailer and total length of 65' (same as US395 from John Day into Pendleton which I have been running a bunch recently)which is a little shy for a regular sleeper truck but I ran it anyway. No resistance DOT wise over that entire route. A beautiful drive with one hell of a down grade (8%) a bit into the OR border with lots of short curves and a really nasty plunge to the canyon floor if you happen to make a mistake but well worth the view.Ooops Thanks this. -

Getting unloaded a day early at the WM DC in Loveland, CO which is pretty sweet. Not much remaining in my logbook for hours but will at least be able to start really early tomorrow in hopes of missing ####ty weather in Wyoming that is supposed to be on its way. Finishing out in SLC perhaps tomorrow or early Thursday and with any load at all should be able to crack 16000 miles for the month which is pretty #### nice.
